Can anyone get C&C Tiberium Sun / Firestorm no-cd crack working?

Hey, I have the version 2.03 patch for Command and conquer tiberium sun and firestorm. I can get the game working fine on my windows XP Pro system without using the no cd, but I want to transfer it to my portable HD, and the no cd crack wont work for me. I keep on getting an error. Something along the lines of “Failed to Initialize, please reinstall.” I tried everything, any ideas?

Don't move a game to another drive/directory after the installation; it may not work, with or without a crack! Have you read the message? It says reinstall the game. Well, reinstall the game.

I didnt move it to a different drive. Was just trying to get the nocd crack to work. I havent gotten to the move phase. I tried reinstalling like 5 times.:confused:

Sounds to me like an old crack which is incompatible with WinXP. You really need a 98 PC to test this on, but I suspect it would work perfectly there.

I think an XP-incompatible crack would give a different error message, probably one like "X linked to missing export Y in Z".

Firestorm came out when Millenium and 2000 were the rage.. So it was never designed to work on XP.

But I dont see why not.
