View Full Version : DVD/VCR Recorder help
I've been copying home movies from VCR to DVD using a Panasonic DVD/VCR combo unit and everything has been working fine. My family wanted a copy of a home movie I transfered to DVD so I tried to use my computer to copy it. When I put the DVD in the computer, the computers DVD drive can't/won't recognise it.
Is there anyway to copy a dvd that was recorded using a tv dvd recorder??

Did you finalize the disc ? What media are you using ? Which optical drives do you have ?
I am thinking about buying one these DVD/VCR combo units for the same reason, to convert my videos of my kids to DVD, so I would be curious of the outcome. :)
I'm using Sony DVD-R media. Its a Panasonic DVD/VCR combo unit. The computers DVD is a Memorex. It is capable of DVD-R reading/recording.
The DVD/VCR finalizes the disk automatically, I interupted that one time by removing the disk before it final ized and still have the same problem.
Again these are home movies being transfered so its not a major deal, it just seems that someone would know how to do it, if its possible.
Thanks in advance...
Has your computers DVD player always been able to read the sony discs?
Have you got other programs, movies etc that work on the sony discs?
Could it be a problem with your computer not liking the Sony discs? Have you tried another brand of Media?
No, I use Sony for everything I copy and haven't had a problem.
