View Full Version : Zapitalism no-CD
When I was looking trough my games collection I 're-discovered' the game Zapitalsim that had been lying there for a while. There where some scratches on the back, but i gave it a try.
The game installed fine, but...
The game doesn't recognise the CD so i can't play the game :(
Does any one have any advice or a no Cd patch..?

Is it a win or a dos game and which protection does it have?
This (http://www.lavamind.com/zap.html) is the official site of the game.
I believe it's a windows game, don't know about the protection.

scan cd/game instalation dir with a-ray scanner
a-ray scanner didn't realy do anything, it just scanned the Cd/folder (tried both) but didn't give any output:S
I tried to make an image of the cd but it failed (read error)
i made an image of my gazilonaire CD (same developer) and changed all of the GAZ folders to ZAP and it skipped the CD check:)
Now I get an error: 'Invalid File Format'
But it doesn't tell me which file it is...
Gues i need to find a zapitalism board to answer this question:(

Please, read the FAQ on how to request no-CD patches for old games.
I get this message:(
[x] File is NON MZ/PE executable..skipped
- Scan Took : 0.984 Seconds
any tips..?

It seems it only has a simple CD check. Please, ZIP up the necessary files to test the copy protection and send them as an E-mail attachment to me. More details in the FAQ, you can find my E-mail address below.

Sorry, this is Visual BASIC pseudo-code embedded into an "executable", it's no true machine language that a disassembler can show. Errr, anyone have (the URL of) a Visual BASIC decompiler handy? :)
[Edit] Hehe, found quite a few at http://www.program-transformation.org/Transform/VisualBasicDecompilers but the resulting Visual BASIC code makes no sense to me, as I've, fortunately, never coded in it... ;) Sorry, someone else want to try to crack this game?
some help would really be appreciated
