Far Cry Fix

I have tried everything to get this damn piece of c*** game to work. It just hates my drives so I am resorting to a crack. Now i have tried searching everywere for a fix that works and after downloading 38 files, I am still yet to find something that works (yes i have followed the generic suggestions made here and the specifics on the GCW site. They have yielded zip result).

Can anyone point me in the direction of a functional fix for this stupid game.

Oh, just one last thing. MegaGames is a good site to visit if you like generating pop-up revenue for people. MegaGames could be so named if "Mega" meant non-functioning and "Games" meant crap. Not a single one of their links went anywhere, except of course to an advertisement and then the "file not found" or "sever not found" screen. Most helpful.

MegaGames.com is a good site and I never had any problems when downloading a file from the site. All files are definetely available and work a 100%!!!

So if you get a message "File not found" or "Server not found", try another mirror!

To your problem:

For which version (language; version number) do you search a NO-DVD-CRACK?
Some more info please!

Ok this game indeed did take a long time for a 1.3 nocd to appear but there is one and its working, I cant remember if i got it here but i tested it last week with the new patch for HDR + AA at same time, so this is 1st ive used 1.3patch nocd cause I completed game when it was new on no patches, then messed about with patch 1.2 to see HDR.

1st update your game to 1.3, you dont need any above it as there all for non windows or online fixes, then somehow give me a contact for you and I will send you the nocd, cause the one here dont look the one i used it says "1.0-1.3" and you claim all others dont work for you

I agree, I have never had a problem with Megagames site.

And the Farcry v1.0 NoCD crack still works with all updates.
So it should be as simple as Installing Farcry, then updating Farcry with the official updates, then Backing up your updated Farcry.exe (for future update patches), then copy over the cracked v1.0 NoCD exe to your game directory (overwriting the original exe)

Easy one. ;)

Is it proven the nocd 1.0 dont revert some of patched fixes like most will do, I can send him a real 1.3 nocd (works on DVD) i aint got cd version to try.

Unless that has been changed with the v1.33 update (I believe that is what they are now up to?) but I seriously doubt it has been changed to patch the exe! As it has never touched the exe before. So the original v1.0 NoCD is still good.
And yes unlike most other games where you always need a new NoCD once an Update patch is released. ;)

Thats cool and that explains why the 1.4 beta patch to allow HDR+AA at same time works on 1.3nocd cause there aint a nocd1.4 beta lol.

Again 1.33 is only for online and or linux etc, If like me you only play on your own the story game you only need patch 1.30 but since it seems it will still let you use a any nocd with 1.33 why not update :)

I havent played Farcry for a while now, but a lot of members are aware it is my favorite game. :p
Even tho I have been giving Battlefield 2 a hammering lately. Or I should say Battlefield 2 has been giving me a hammering!! :D

it's like Grumpy said.. the main executable didn't get updated by any of the patches (maybe by the new 1.4 one, haven't tried it), so the 1.0 NOCD exe is still valid for all versions up to 1.33.

I just stated above 1.4 patch lets you play with 1.3 nocd, so it obv dont change .EXE, its only a beta patch to let game run HDR along with AA which was not possible before, the actual gpus were not meant to be able to run HDr and AA at same time when launched (example n40/nvidia 6000 series) but this lets all 6000 & 7000 and new Ati cards run both turned on at same time, but still needs you to drop down the games console and enter 2 cmds after you have overwriten 2 games files with patched ones.

BTW It looks nice esp water with sky above it.

Also if still are trying to download file from magagames.com make sure you don't have download accelerator utilities running because don't work there and can give that kind error messages

wow. guys! firstly, thanks very much for all the suggestions. i thought perhaps i would get 1 or 2 VIEWS but didn't dream i get this many replies!! thanks very much

okay, to begin, i've inst patc 1.32. i've tried fixes for this and any / all subsequent versions of the game. the latest fix i have i grabbed from GCW. i extracted it to the ubisoft-crytek-farcry folder. still no joy. returns the following error:

CrySystem.dll Loading Failed:
the specified module could not be found

i have visited MegaGames again and revisited all of the mirrors. they all consistently return thefollow screen:
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at 66.199.232.172. (change IP for mirror. you get the idea).

someone mentioned that megagames has problems with dload managers. i dont use one for firefox and have tried turning azureus off in case it messes with things but again, no joy on the downlaod.

i have installed and run the FFF crack-tro and FFF fcd-rue. they dont seem to do anything and truth be told, i have no idea what they're s'posed to do.

i tried reinstalling the game and working from the beginning. again no joy.

i know that the problem with the dvd is a hardware one. its copy-pro won't work on my dvd writer. other forums have confirmed this for me. i have updated the firmware for the dvd but again, no joy.

the thing that gets me is that i paid for this game. sure it was discounted but the principle remains the same. i am running all over tyring to get this thing to work when in reality, the stupid software company should make sure that their games are fully tested and hardware incompatibility problems addressed. i've spoken to ubi and they've done SFA about fixing the hardware issues the game encounters. they're not interested i've been told.

any more suggestions?

Did you try to use fixed image mounted in daemon tools 4 instead of fixed exe?

At first you should update Far Cry from V. 1.32 to V. 1.33!!!
And instead of a NO-DVD FIXED EXE you can also use the program "5star Game Copy" (http://www.engelmann.com/?file=5stargamecopy&lang=english).

With this program you can create working PC-/PS2-Game-Backups on CD/DVD!
