as far as im concerned starforce doesent fuck up drives,its when you try cracking it with stuff like starfucker..i lost a drive in the process about a year ago.

If you think about it, it's Starforce that manipulates the system at a lower level than Starfucker. If you use the two together and thus manage to irreversibly damage any hardware component of your PC then it's definitely Starforce that is to be blamed!

There's nothing special about what Starfucker - or other similar programs, for that matter - do: they just change some registry entries and/or call some API functions (no direct hardware access!!!) to disable and enable devices registered to the system. (Or am I missing something?!)

(Anyway, it's very sad that there exist hardware devices that can be damaged irreversibly with software only. :( And I'm not talking about overheating and other trivial stuff...!)

I AGREE, STARFORCE SUCKS, IT'S A SCURGE AND NEEDS TO BE IRATICATED, HOPEFULLY SOONER RATHER THAN LATER!!!
