View Full Version : Path of Neo Question

I'm currently running Path of Neo with an image through Daemon tools and antiblah. The game has multiple graphical glitches and gameplay issues with my graphics card though (ATI Raedeon X800XL All In Wonder) and though it is still playable to a degree a path is required to fix the various problems.
However, when I patch Antiblah, antiblax, StopSr7 and the few cracks I've tried still won't get the game up and running. Does anyone know if there is a way around the new prevention measures in the patch yet?
Thanks in advance.
The NoDVD for version 1.0 works fine with the updated game. It's available at GCW under the "T" category of the Game Index.
The file is called MATRIX3W32S.EXE and you just stick it in the install folder. Run this new exe instead of the original and the game will run with no problems. You won't need images or protection hiders any longer. You don't even need to rename the original exe or anything.
Just remember to change your desktop shortcut (and/or start menu shortcut) to point to the new exe.
Hope that helps ya! :)

I have had the path of Neo game for a while. And when i heard about the no-cd exe i downloaded it, even though i had being playing with a image and had beat the game a long time ago. It works, I updated the game, And it works, if u open with the exe. But heres the big catch, When u update, the bin file that is normally used to open the game(if u had a legit version) is updated, and a new exe is placed in the folder. It seems since the fixes have been updated to the bin file, when u run the crack exe, it bypasses the bin file, and the updated new exe. Therefore youll still be playing Version 1.0. I updated, and tried this, and non of the fixes were present, and the game was having the same glitches. Furthermore, 1.0 trainers were working. All this means that the game will stay v 1.0 when using the crack exe, since the update changes the bin file to version 1.1, and adds a new exe. Im just wondering if anyone has had these problems.

Well, yeah theres a second patch, but its really just an updated version of patch 1.1. It fixes two problems that patch 1.1 caused. Those are 2 graphical glitches, and the ability so save gamepad configurations. Apart from that its the same. Youll still have the patch 1.1, and its updated the bin file. But since the cracked exe bypasses the bin file the fixes are not present, and the game still acts like version 1. I tried opening the game after being patched using the normal bin file. But the protection detects everything, must have been updated along with the patch. So the best way is to just use the cracked exe, even though u wont get the benifits of the patched version.

That kinda sucks that the game is finally somewhat fixed, at least the biggest annoyances (like the key configuration being saved), and now we gotta wait for another crack to actually make the game work again :(
I tried all the methods described in the 7-something threads with like 7 pages avg each, which was no easy feat, and I still can't startup this game with or without the original CD due to the damn errors of SR7...
Either way, hope a new crack comes out soon, or that someone finds another workaround, cause this is getting unbearably rediculous :(

Well Farshid, If u updated the game then ull find that no mini or maxi image will work. Nor will sr7. But u can still play with the v1.0 exe. All u have to do is add the exe to the directory and make a shortcut to the exe so u can start it from the desktop. The bad thing is that when u start the game with this exe NONE of the update fixes will be present so youll be basically playing v1.0.

jrwriter, thanx for the reply bro! I read your post before mine, and I completely hear what you're saying, but I guess that that's where my problem lies... I've put off playing this game till the second patch came out, hopeing that they'd fix the problem that many users on their official forums have been having, including the fact that many peeps, like myself, with the original DVD can't play because of issues with SR7 not recognizing the rom drive or the DVD itself as valid. I've done everything in my power to try and remedy this problem, including upgrading my drive's firmware, etc., but nothing seems to work. That's why I hope a no DVD crack designed to work with, as opposed to around, the second patch will come out soon. Either that or some clever way to get around needing the DVD in the drive. Either way, I'm tired of waiting to play a game that came out months ago :(
When I was using an image to play, I had to use Alcohol 120% and not Daemon Tools. For whatever reason, DT just wouldn't work, but A120% had no problems whatsoever.
I did not realise the crack bypassed the update......maybe I'll go back to using an image (or just use the original disk  ).

Rayder, prob is, with this new patch, disc or no disc, it doesn't seem to work at all for some people... :(
Hmmm...yeah, just discovered that myself.....worked with patch1 though....
Bummer. :(

Yeah, I hear u man, It might be better to wait for a v1.1 exe that works with the update than using the 1.0 cracked exe that bypasses the update, like ive been doing. From what i heard the company added an updated securerom to the update patch. And this seems to be having probs on everyones computers. I tried everything myself after updating and it was still detecting an emululator when i used the legit exe, so i just got tired and put the v 1.o cracked exe, and played even though it bypasses the updates. The downside was that i didnt have any fixes and the Game is full of bugs, From lighting, to the menu, controls, shadows, i mean wow, the 1.0 version is just full of sh**. So i totally agree with u, just wait alittle longer and hopefully a new cracked exe for the updated version will come out so u can play with the fixes the update offers.

Thanks for the reply geokou72, but unfortunately, that's a Maxi-Image for the Euro version of the game, and only applies to getting the game to work after the first patch, not the second, as the Euro second patch still hasn't been released (as there are some people on the offical Atari forums really pissed about that too).
And jrwriter, thanx for the thoughts and understanding bro, now if only we had a way to contact those with the means to do something about it, I wouldn't feel so helpless :/
