Hello members,

I'm new to this realm so please be patient and pardon my ignorance...
Basically, I want to compile a new music DVD with tracks from various DVDs and would like to know the following:

1. Is it possible to do this? (is it a matter of simply ripping the VOB file for the tracks into a directory, create a title/menu, then burn it?)

2. Is it illegal to do what I'm attempting? I know that you are allowed to make a single backup copy of the original, but in my case its not an actual 1:1 backup.

3. Whats the best software/s to do this?

Thanks...

I do this to make demo discs for showing off my home theater. It's very easy to do. I use DVDShrink to clip out sections that I want and then use Pegasys DVDAuthor to create the disc. The only thing DVDAuthor doesn't do is support DTS tracks which I hope it will in the future.
