why is it so hard to crack i see other games with the same protection like quake4 and civ4

Let them try "loading" sdapi. There are some surprises waiting for them ^^. I guess emulation for it is still the best way.

But I thought the sdapi in NFS:MW was unprotected? Or was it Civ4? I can't remember. All I know is that was it was some recent game.

If you read other parts of the thread, you'll realize that you shouldn't be surprised: because of SDAPI, this game is obviously harder to crack than others.

Just use the windows XP file system compression ( compress only the images not the whole partition ) and the image goes to a just megabyte or 2 and it is working perfectly.To compress file in windows XP just right click on it select Properties -> Advanced and put a mark on the option compress to save disk space.Remember that you must use NTFS file system for this partition for this to work.

I've seen at GCW that a NO-DVD FIXED EXE for version 1.3 has been released.
So someone has finally reached cracking the "SafeDisc 4.60" protection of this fine game! That's good! :D

But the bad thing is, it's for the JAPANESE VERSION of the game! :(

Has anybody tested the crack, yet? Does it also work for the GERMAN/ENGLISH version of the game supporting german/english language or do we have to wait for a german/english crack???

If so, there hopefully appears one, soon!!!

Same thing happened with Civ4... Dollars to doghnuts that the devs forgot to destroy the SDAPI in the new patch... making it possible to rebuild. I havent seen the crack yet, as I dont have an original exe to compare to, but I think thats what happened.

Put that error code into google or MS Knowledgebase and find out whats the problem, try rebooting pc and see if that fixes.

To above user, i ran the actual crack by d/clicking it to make sure game ran after i put it in the game dir, i then closed game and simply renamed it to same as the exe i was repalcing and its still fine, so it would be "speed.exe" but i have the 4cdr black edition, not DVD as it wasnt out at new.

Try renaming file while its on your desktop then put it in the game dir accetting the msg to replace bla bla bla , lol
then actually start game by d/clicking this and if it runs and you can close game and try running with the shortcut on desktop and if it wont run with shortcut on desktop just deleted it and make new shortcut for the new renamed .exe, i dont see this been issue though but its what i would do for now, you may need a nodvd.exe

Just another confirmation that the Japanese NoDVD exe does indeed work fine on the English version.

I renamed the file from NFSMW.exe to speed.exe and replaced the original speed.exe (renaming the original speed.exe to speed.exe.bak, for future updates ;) ) and voila, all works fine. :) No more images or protection hiders needed.

As mentioned in one of the replies above, the only difference I noticed is that Josie's little disclaimer warning at the start of the game has subtitles, but that's it.

My originals are the Black Edition on CD.....just in case that means anything.

Safedisc 4 (4.5 and 4.60 version) are not uncrackable.Not only Civ4 as been cracked see also CALL OF DUTY 2,GUN are been cracked AND ALSO USING Safedisc 4.6.
Safedisc 4 is not Starforce.

I downloaded the 1.3 patch, patched the game up, and then i downloaded the japanese exe crack. I put it in my folder, and reneamed to speed.exe, The problem is that everytime i start the exe it says "speed.exe has encountered a problem and needs to be closed" When i click on view error report it lists some things like "AppVer: 0.0.0.0, ModVer: 0.0.0.0, Offset:00000f25" I tryed leaving it named nfsMW.exe, but when i tried to launch it i still got the same error. "has encountered a problem, and needs to be closed". This happens no matter where i open the exe from, even when i open it stright out of the winrar file, or from the NFSMW directory, or the shortcut. I know yall got this to work perfectly. And i know theres something im missing. Would appreciate any help, thanks

Yeah works, After trying all that shit-(i overlooked the simplest thing),lol, I finally switched compatability on the exe to Win 2k on the exe and shortcuts and it worked perfectly on the 1.3 patched version. The only difference is the opening subtitles, and thats basically it. I had one question though, If theres ever another update, will i have to replace the exe with the original while installing, or updates will be fine? thanks

Activision never protected API's in COD2?? I thought activision used standard safedisc(no sdapi), hence all the deviance crack ;)

Anyways, just looked at this crack. This is a loader crack, so nothing new :( Macrovision will just update, and this method will probably become obsolete.

Hmm, seems to be working, but trainers dont seem to. When u press a trainer hotkey in game, the game shuts down. And, If u had v 1.2 before patching was that the black edition? And after patching will it still be Black edtion.

hello, i tried the fixed exe "NFS: Most Wanted v1.3 [JAPANESE] No-CD/Fixed EXE" and work fine in the spanish version.

I not apply the official patch v1.3, yet.
I only copied the fixed exe to the installation directory and launch the game by the fixed exe.

They were protected by Safedisc 4.60 but did not have SDApi in it. Pure Safedisc without sdapi is easier to crack than with sdapi. That's why most EA Titles are not cracked because they have sdapi.

The Japanese cracked exe works fine, you just have to install patch 1.3 as well. I've noticed that game performance suffered without the 1.3 patch using the cracked exe.

Note that in order to get the Japanese exe to work, you HAVE to set its compatibility to Windows 2000 if you have Windows XP or 2003, otherwise it just crashes. To set windows 2000 compatibility mode, right click on the exe and go to properties-> compatibility tab, check "Run the program in compatibility mode for:" and select "Windows 2000" in the pull-down menu

The VW cracked exe works as well (haven't tried it much) and doesn't need windows 2000 compatibility mode

The subtitles appear because of the 1.3 patch. To remove them, just rename or delete the SUBTITLES folder and they'll be gone :)

VW Need For Speed MW Crack and "Japanese" 1.3 crack are identical files!!!
No, it can't be, VW release have about 20mb and "japanese" is about 7mb you say-WRONG!
Files are binary identical except:
1. VW put his name in the header instead "stxt371". That means nothing for the cracked file, it's just advertise.
2. After the end of file VW has 13mb of blank bytes (all zeroes). That also have nothing to do with crack and it's pointless...

And if you need to turn on compatibility mode with "japanese" version, you need to turn it on with VW release also!! If you think that you don't then check it again, maybe it is checked by previous experimenting with "japanese" version.

BTW, both releases work without compatibility mode for me IF I put check in "disable visual themes" AND "turn off advanced text service..." in NFS shortcut! :confused: And yes, if I rename file I don't have to do nothing, it works without "tricks"... Go figure...

Indeed, infovs is right. VW's release is a ripoff, it's not theirs. I can confirm that the files are identical, and VW has just padded their EXE with zeroes to make it look bigger. The different bytes betweeen the two files are:

So, VW's "crack" is just a lame ass ripoff off the Japanese cracked EXE, therefore a FAKE release. It also needs win2000 compatibility mode to work, same as the japanese one. VW have just filled the EXE with junk and put their signatures in it, without changing anything substantial in the file whatsoever.

Please don't upload this to gcw, VW are just lame thieves, who have released their "cracked" exe to spread their name around

Also, it's true that you don't need to set win2000 compatibility mode to get the game to work. You only need to check the "Turn off advanced text services for this program" to get it working, which makes sense, as advanced text services are used for the Japanese language. The "Disable visual themes" checkbox didn't make a difference for me, I only needed to disable advanced text services to play the game

Plus, the VW "crack" has a file modification date of yesterday (4/1/06), exactly 8 minutes before Nightmare85 made his post with the link to it *cough*. Now, I wonder who the people in this VW group really are ;) *cough*ban?*cough*

VW also stole cracks of MotoGP3 and Codename Panzers 2 and packed them with exe crypter/packer, that is why you do not see cracked securom protection and the files are smaller. It is not true that they cracked them and completely removed the securom/starforce Protection - they/he just packed it to earn unearned respect ;)

Don't use compatibility mode, just disable text sevices (it's a bit further down on the same tab as compatibility mode).

If the game doesn't work when you name the file speed.exe, open the japanese speed.exe with a hex editor (e.g HexWorkShop), find the string "speed.exe" and change it to something else, e.g. xpeed.exe or just make all characters spaces

Hmm thats the same one i grabbed on day 1 of release here, it unpack to say VW in .NFO, unless its been changed since then.

I've applied the new crack by VOLKSWAGEN and it's not a 100% ok, but it works. After I set the compatibility mode to Windows 2000 and deactivated "Visual Designs" (same tab as compatibility mode) the NO-DVD crack now works! :)
But I will test it a bit more, to see if it crashes after some time or at a specific point of the game!

By the way I have the GERMAN DVD-VERSION of the game.

Read a couple of posts above yours, the VW crack is the same as the Japan version fixed exe

@dede: glad to hear it's working :) You need to install patch 1.3 as well, otherwise the game will be slower with the fixed exe (the fixed exe is ver 1.3). Don't forget to keep a copy of your changed Japan EXE file

The reloaded no-cd crack works 100%. It's version 1.3 English, all trainers work, game has no slowdowns and no compatibility mode needs to be set or anything advanced. It just works :) A big THANK YOU goes to Reloaded for yet another great release! Thanks guys, you keep the scene alive with your great releases (plus, the NFO mentions the fake VW release as well! :D )

You probably don't even know how to use a debugger, and yet you sit around talking shit. Civ4 and NFS:MW got cracked because the developers forgot to protect SDAPI to the max, making it vunerable to cracking. 20 min. if you know what you're doing is all it takes, and 5 secs if you have an auto-unwrapper.

So please, learn something before you hit the reply button. Activision games only have normal Safedisc, and that can be easily cracked. Thats the only reason deviance could crack them :P

I get a error with reloaded nodvd and i dont think its cause i got 4cdr version, i will stick to VW, i dont care if its fake or stolen, it lets me run the game with nocd and no tools or daemon and i dont see any slowdown of game, also i dont need ever user trainers.

The executable for the 4CD version and the DVD version is the same. Have you by any chance forgotten to REMOVE the windows 2000 compatibility mode for reloaded's cracked exe? Compatibility mode is set by filename, so if you replaced a file with compatibility mode with another one, the compatibility flag is still set

I dont know what your talking about, but your doing something wrong. The reloaded crack works with the 4 cd version a 100%. You should take your time and try and find out whats your doing wrong, (dont worry, a little patience solves most pc problems, including this) Dont come here rambling about the crack not working. You didnt even say what the error was. Sometimes its the simplest thing that you forgot to do. As for the VW crack, its really a loader, and since its the same as the japanese thats why no trainers work. But as long as it works and your not having probs then why are you complaining. A no- cd exe is a no-cd exe.

Hi, you need to apply the official NFSMW update v1.3 then overwrite the .exe with the RELOADED noDVD exe from GCW .

Works a treat !

Eh? What are you talking about? The original English version of the game has no subtitles, only the non-English versions do (e.g. the Japanese one). VW stole the cracked Japanese version, hence you got subtitles. It's not a problem with Reloaded's crack, this is a problem with the game itself

OK let me repeat this

There are several versions of Need for Speed. The English version (English EXE) doesn't have subs. Non-English versions, like the Japanese one (Japanese EXE) HAVE subs. Reloaded's cracked EXE is from the English version, hence it has no subtitles. The Japanese cracked EXE (the one that VW stole and branded as their own) has subtitles

Conclusion:
If you get Reloaded's exe you won't have subtitles, because it's the cracked exe of the English version, and the English version has no subtitles
If you get the Japanese cracked exe (or VW's stolen exe) you will have subtitles, as non-English versions of the game have subtitles

The game works fine for me using the Reloaded Patch. However, when in the game I can't press B or any other key for that matter to access my blacklist. Therefore, i cant really progress in the game. Anyone know what may be causing this?

It's not only the letter B that is acting up. I cant change camera views, I cant change music tracks, they keys dont work in the game. (it works in options mode, just not while in free-roam mode).

Why would you need key "C" apart from to change camera view ?

You can work your way right through all menus and back out with keys (ESC and the 4 arrow keys, then use keys 1, 2 ,3 and 4 for other tasks) (not numpad)

When I press ESC it brings me to the Pause menu. At the pause menu I can only change options, or quit to main menu.

I can bring up my SMS message menu, and my world map menu, but no matter what I do I can't bring up my blacklist menu.

I am trying to do what you said, and work my way through all menus, but it only brings me up to the Pause menu.

Guys I figured out a big SOLUTION to my problem after installing the 1.3 patch.. If you have need for speed underground 2.. the patch conflicts with that version of need for speed somehow and installed the updates on Underground 2 instead of most wanted.. got rid of underground 2 and reinstalled most wanted and installed the crack.. EVERYTHING WORKS GREAT!.. hope this helps anyone in the same situation! :)

I know that NSF:MW checks to see if you have NFS: U2 installed. If you do then you get an extra $10,000 at the games start. That might be a cause of the problem?

whatever EA are doing, they are doing something really wrong.. i couldn't install NFS:MW, because the installer thought i had it already installed. when i chose "play", the installer started NFS:U (1!). i had to delete the NFS:U registry entries, to be able to install NFS:MW. thank god, NFS:U (nocd patched) seems to be working fine without those.

I think this same problem with EA's patches is somehow effecting my Sims 2 and Sims 2 Nightlife expansion.. might be the same problem.. as i patched both now they both dont work... I might try to uninstall both.. reinstall Sims 2 apply the patch.. then install nightlife after patch is applied.. the same way i did it with NFSMW..

Damn EA.. they need to fix their patches.. so stupid.. :(

I have tried every single version of the no/dvd crack. I have a us cd version that I converted to a dvd to save wear on my original disks.

The problem is when I use any of the cracks they will launch the game (the vw illegal ops) and everything works great. But when I choose to go into a game mode and it should show the vehicles to choose from nothing is being rendered. I can switch vehicles but there is no pic of the vehicle. Then if you just try to launch say quick game and speed trap it'll try to load but then it'll kick me back to the desktop. I'm running win2k/sp4 fully updated everything driver wise. and I even downclocked my 6800GT to stock speeds thinking that might have something to do with it.

It would be kinda cool to have a working no/cd for this game but it's bad enough that I bought this POS! nfs games are more like rap videos from modern day mtv than a actually fun arcade racer. The game would be 100% better if just the music was changed to all 80's hair band's :D Nothing like blasting through a cop road block listening to (I can't drive 55) :D

I had to join just so I could comment on this one, actually games are usually designed for the current age group of it's players, which currently is from 18 to 35 therefore having better music in the game would have been a benifit to EA Games and was something I even complained to them about not only in other forums but their own as well!

I too would have loved to been being chased by cops while listening to "I Can't Drive 55" by Sammy Hagar. There are plethoria of better songs more suited for this game out than the current line up in the game, which in my opinion fracks donkey nuts! That excuse for music that they have included in the last couple of NFS titles has really hurt the replayability of their games for a lot of people, including myself, they are quickly alienating the vast majority of their audience with that crap they call music in the games!

On a more lighter note, hoping to stay on the topic of NFSMW, I read somewhere that there is a Volkswagen patch for this game, what is that and where can I obtain it?

Also, Will any of these "cracks" allow me to create an ISO of my NFSMW:BE's 1st disk and use it like I do with the one for NFSUG2? And I seen that someone else had a problem with one of the "cracks" in that it wouldn't allow for him to use his copy with NFSUG2 installed is this still the case? I plan on using it so that when I play the game I don't have to worry about having my actual CD in the drive but I'll probably also use it, like I do my NFSUG2 disk to install with and I want to make sure that if I do I can still get my extra $$ from where I have NFSUG2 installed with it.

I probably should also mention I run XPSP2 with the RyanVM updates and use the US version of the game.

Get Reloaded's proper no-CD patch from GCW and you won't need a CD/DVD at all. Also, turn down the music volume (or downright delete the music file - a single 400-450 Megabyte file somewhere in the directory structure of the installed game - like I did) to get rid of the stupid music! :D

I shouldn't have to delete anything, they should be including better music with their games to begin with or at least give the option to use files from your system rather than force you to listen to their crap. Sure you can turn it off in the settings and use another player to listen to them in the background but that's not the optimal way of listening to music in a game.

Thanks for the information on the file though, but what about my other concerns? Primarily, if I use this "crack" with my "created" ISO file will I still be able to install it as if I were using the actual install disks? I've thought about using the instructions and making myself a DVD of it instead of the 4 disk set, (which I thought to be ridiculous to say the least,) and incorporating the 1.3 patch into it and using that to install the game with, has anyone else done this yet and should I expect any problems with it if I do this?

The NFSUG2 one I talked about earlier that I built I did going by step-by-step instructions that I had found elsewhere at the time and it works superbly still even after patching the game several times with the updates that come out afterwards. I just wanted to make sure I'll be able to at least install this with the 1.3 patch and be able to make use of the extra $$$ I get from having NFSUG2 installed as well as not having any future problems when 1.4 patch is finally released.

Now there is a NO-CD/-DVD FIXED EXE available for version 1.01 of the game, but not by RELOADED, no DEViANCE have made it!!!

Can anybody please report here, if it's working?! I don't have installed the game at the moment, so I can not test it at this time.
