Not read dvd games [Archive]

Ok got a prob?
Got a v4 (free) non working
Put new laser in
Will read PS1 games, PS2 cd games (says thay need a dual shock 2 think the controlers may be from PS1) is there any difrence, Will not read dvd games

Any help Appreciated

Have you tried calibrating the laser? - it's unlikely that if you just put it in it would work perfectly.

Try these instructions here if you haven't done the calibration already:

PS1 controller not compatible with PS2?
The controller i have is a d-shock (gray) it works fine with PS1 games but when i try to play a PS2 (cd) game (snooker) it says the controller is not compatible please put a duel shock 2 in to controller socket 1?

Ok ajusted hight booted to Playstation2 logo
Ajusted angle now boots OK

Well been on for 30+ mins stoped loading dvd games?
Stops after playstation2 logo?

no the ps1/ps2 controllers are not compat. clean that laser off, maybe all that handleing is smudging it over some

Sounds like you're on the edge of getting it to boot. A little more tinkering (move laser a click or 2 closer) and see if it returns to booting :)

Ajusted angle again (anit clockwise nearly 1/2 turn from what it was supplyed)
All seems OK
Will leve over night and try 2morrow
