Booting HDLoader Disk

I have tried several times to make an HDL disk that I can boot on my v12 PS2 with no luck. So far all I have managed to do is make a good collection of coasters. I have tried several ISO from different web sites including this site, I have tried CDR and CDRW and I’m using NERO 6.5 to do the burning. I have tried to make other disks besides HDL also with no success. Including USB Advance, Swap Magic, DEV1, PS2OS but noting will boot. Every time I try the PS2 boots to the clouds thinks for a min then goes to the red screen that says please insert in PS or PS2 formatted disk. Do you know what I'm doing wrong?

this may be a dumb ??, but ill ask anywayz. is your ps2 chipped? if so with what, and how big is the iso your burning?

Also if you are trying to boot HDL on a V12 I would assume you realize you need to modify your V12 to be able to accept a HDD in the first place.
