i've read the thread about cd2dvd thing... but is there the other way around?
i mean DVD2CDs?

i have and existing dvd-rom drive so i can have dvdroms but backing them up is my problem. the DVD-Rs locally available here are "blue-dyed" which i do not prefer to use for long time backups, so i wanted to "chop" the dvd installer to multiple CDs... say Prince of Persia two throne DVD.iso... now im gonna install it to my HDD then kinda repack it onto multiple CDs.

im using clickteam's install creator which is really WYSWYG and easy. but the things is, most of the install makers availabe can only pack files NOT more than 2GB of file size (compressed).

i have tried installshield pro but uh its not easy to do it. is there anyone who could help me please?

How and why did you create the iso?

How and why did you create the iso?

i didn't. my friend got it through a t3 line, then he lend me his dvd-r, but now drives low in space so i need to chop it and put in onto cds, coz i dont have a dvd burner, first i used winrar to chop it. it takes too much time and ends up w/ crc errors. good thing i haven't deleted the iso. tried everything, repack with no compression just to see there's no more crc errors. Neways this is no winrar helpdesk so to cut it short, i just wasted blanks.

now i thought of kinda making my own myinstaller, kinda like what the professionals do... so i'monna repack it into chops but then when i insert the first cd it'll autorun and extarct or install, then asks for then 2nd 3rd and so on to how much cds it would take.

tried downloading some freebies installer from cnet but most of 'em don't pack files more than 2gb. and i got curious on some apps and what kind of installers they are using. and then i have seen some installer which has a slim size of kb in their first setup.exe then has their packs in cab files. As i see that it is too complicated for me to do it i try ask some tiips here since i've read cd2dvd.

So what your telling me is your friend downloaded it, then burnt it to a DVD-R, then lent you the DVD-R?

Uh oh, smelling a ban here :p

No installer can create files larger than 2GB on DVDs, it's a limitation of the ISO standard that DVDs use. If you wish to write files which are larger than 2GB on DVD, you can use the UDF format (Nero supports them both), but UDF takes up a lot of space, so the resulting disk will be smaller than 4.3GB

Yep, affraid so! Downloading games (warez) is not tolerated on this site!
You and your friend really need to go and purchase the game, that is purchase a game each!
im one of the few who read the rules
Unfortunately for you, you should have read them before posting on this forum!
I have no choice but to ban you for a month! Come back when you have purchased the game and then I 'may' help you.
