View Full Version : X3 - Reunion (help needed)
Hello folks. I've never had any problems with cheating StarForce before, but I can't get this game to run. The instructions on how to get the game to run are driving me insane and in my opionion are way too complicated. Usually I just had to load the image into DAEMON tools or whatever, hide all the drives and then simply run the game. However, when I try to run X3, I always get the message that I should "put the cd in another drive"...I find that really confusing. I need help please!
Hey, maybe I can help! Where did you get those instructions, and where did you get the game?

Hm...I have the exact opposite. Normally, I can't run any images from Starforce protected games but with X3 it worked. I just followed the instructions and I could play this game. Uninstalled it a 30 minutes later and now I'm saving money for new hardware ;-(
My friend has a 6800 and it still lags on ALL LOW :S. All other games work fine for him, so I don't know what to think.
So did you also disconnect every drive before starting the game? I didn't do that because I thought it wasn't necessary since those hide-programs should take care of that. Maybe that's the error.

I did everything that was written in the instructions. Exactly step by step. On MY comp, it worked perfectly.

@Tyler Durden
@Xerxis
Actually, what instruction did you use? where did you get it? does it use sfnightmare? can you explain it?
I also have this game, but i prefer play with my cd than unplug my drive everytime i want to play.
It's the file from gamecopyworld.com...but since I can't get it to work, I guess I have to use the cd, too. I'm one of those guys who uses a crack for every game that is installed to avoid those annoying cd-changes when one wants to play a different game. *sigh*

Nothing i have tried with Starforce proteted games and mini images works for me. i have read a lot users saying the have bypasssed but I cant' I have tried image with dpm, starrfuckers, starforce nighmare, sf secure nothing help i have 3 games protected by starforce 2 or them I found cracks to make run without cd but scrapland nothing has worked for me
This game was sold very buged (BETA in my oppinion),
There's a 1.3 Patch out that makes the game run smoother,
if you have less than 1 Gigabyte of Ram, you should upgrade it, cause this game never runs Smooth with 512 MB(I have tried that and it wasn't funny at all...upgraded at christmas ;))
@Tyler
Could you maybe tell me what exactly you did to get the game to run (in your own words)? That would be great. I still couldn't get this game to work.
How i play my Starforce Games without CD/DVD in drive:
I first make a Copy of my Original with Alcohol (V1.95.3105) at low (4x)
DPM Read Speed. I Disable Alcohol's Virtual Drives.
(Then i use the "AdvancedMDSEditor" and check if the RMPS Data is right, you don't need to do this step)
!! Then i shut down my Computer, open it, pull the ide cable out of my DVD-
!! Burner and my IDE DVD-Rom, close it and start it again.
I mount the Image of the Starforce-Game with Daemon Tools V4 and
install the Game from the Virtual-Daemon-Drive.
Now i restart the PC (Starforce wants to)...and back again in windows i
mount the image again in Daemon V4
Then i click on the Desktop Icon and Play it...
That is all, no tricks at all. Pure Cable Pulling Power !!!
Happy new year..
Weird...I did it the exact same way, except that I didn't unplug the drives, but I used sd4hide-skl and nightmare to make the drives invisible. Didn't work...oh well.
Good that you have found the error :
The Game ONLY runs if you have physically unplugged your Drives.
You can't make the drives invisible for Starforce 3.6
NO Blacklist Tools will help, SFNightmare only works until STarforce 3.5
IDE CD/DVD Have to go to make a Backup work with Starforce 3.6, the only CD/DVD Drive that could be connected would be a USB2 or Firewire Drive.

For me personally POP T2T and X3 Reunion ( Starfoce 3.5 & 3.6 ) can be played using full image of the original DVD mounted in daemon tools 4 if i disable my IDE controller through device manager.Of course my HDD is not IDE but SATA.
Let me guess, your Motherboard has a Nforce 3 or 4 Chip?
not necessary to have a nforce chipset to have sata....

I'm not sure what you meant by this comment... However, many say that you don't have to physically unplug IDE CD/DVD-ROM drives if you have an nForce chipset on your motherboard.
My x³-copy (DVD) just runs in Alcohol 120% (1.9.5.3823) image drive. Made this copy with dpm high/1x. My motherboard is an Asus P5GD1 with recent bios and with optical drives connected to raid and hd's connected to intel ide and to sata. I don't have to do nothing, no sfn, no dt, no nothing. Installed from imagedrive and runs perfect :)
