Hi I brought a copy of call of duty 2 for my new Acer laptop, but it comes up with a direct x error. I've got the latest version of direct x installed. Anyone managed to overcome this problem?

Many thanks

yes I did. from pc world.

It's an honest question, I took my laptop into the service department in pc world the guy there had a look round my files, tried unistalling, then installing the game a few times but I still got the same message. I got a refund and he totally wiped the game off my pc. The problem is I played it on my mates xbox360 yesterday and really want it, so I thought I'd ask if anyone has come accross the same problem and solved it

I don't have a copy of the game, if any has any help I will put a pic up of the box + receipt.

I can't work out how to download games, thats why I asked.

In response to the only helpful post so far, my model is an Extensa 6600.
The game came with an install for the latest direct x, but no joy, any ideas?
