Hi,

today I installed a dvd burner in my system. Itīs quite an old one and bootet the system. Now all my drives are gone. Before I used tools like star**er, star**mare and so on to hide my drives and it never worked, but now they are gone.

I use a multiboot system so I started another Win XP system. There everything worked well, all drives were there. I read in another thread that I should use star***ucker to unhide them. I did, but it didnīt work.

What can I do to get my drives back?

Thanks

Chris

P.S.: I already deleted starforce from my registry!

You probably installed it wrongly.

Make sure one is master and one is slave, check the pins at the back of the drive.

Or perhaps the drive itself isnt working right and causing the other/s to fail.

How many drives do you have and on what IDE channels are they on?

I think if I would have installed it wrongly it wouldn´t work neither on Windows 98 nor on my 2nd Win XP, but it does. I already checked that. All drives work properly on my 2nd Win XP.

I think, that this hiding software is the cause. But I don`t know how I can force it to show my drives again. Or to get rid of the software, if that would help.
