alright tried to play a couple of old favorites :) (Achtung Spitfire & Over The Riech, windows 95) under xp. of course they have a cd check string:

"Over the Riech was not able to locate the CD-ROM. You must have the CD_ROM to play this game."

i believe the AS is similar. after much surfing i found a cd-rip on underdogs, but it is an unpatched ver 1.0 with all of the problems associated with the original release AND added rip issues:(

I do own both games, including cd's, manuals, and even original boxes:D . yes i'm kind of a pack rat.

any help is greatly appreciated.
feel free to pm me or email: silverhks********com

Please, read the FAQ on requesting cracks for old games.

i read the faq joe, are you asking what protection id said?
protection id says:

Scanning -> C:\Games\OVRREICH\otr95.exe
File Type : Exe, Size : 1269760 (0136000h) Bytes
[!] Possible CD/DVD-Check String -> the CD-ROM
- Scan Took : 0.629 Seconds

Scanning -> C:\Games\ACHTSPIT\asp95.exe
File Type : Exe, Size : 1489920 (016BC00h) Bytes
[!] Possible CD/DVD-Check String -> the CD-ROM
- Scan Took : 0.530 Seconds

i would like to note that if anyone has a way to get the program to notice the CD that is in the drive i would be willing to use that, doesn't have to be a crack.
I have even considered installing an older version of windows with a dual boot system, but this is by no means the optimal solution.

P.S. i know i'm preaching to the choir but,
it really irritates me to have to resort to convoluted or even illegal means to get a program that I own legally (and paid good money for) to run:mad:

Great, apparently, no commercial copy protection! Please, zip up the main executable, DLL's and all files that are needed to run the game to the point of displaying this message. (Make sure to uninstall the game and test the collected files only, on a "virgin" system, to see if the message really does get displayed!) Send it to me in an E-mail attachment and I'll see if I can crack it for you. Have a nice weekend!
