I turned on my computer and got an alert from my antivirus about a file located in c\system volume information the file is called a0062469.exe but the antivirus don't say if it's a virus or spyware just an alert that says "possible virus", 2 days ago I received a similar alert from a no cd crack i downloaded from this site, the no cd crack was the game LOTR the fellowship for the ring but I thought was a false alarm because the crack works fine and cracks that are viruses usally don't work well, but now that this other file has been detected I don't know what to think what i don't like the location of the file I previosly mentioned (c:\system volume information ) where is common virus/spyware installs to create problems but i don't know maybe piked up thif file from other place and not from the no crack itself and in both file the antivirus don't even confirm it its a virus or not just said that message "possible virus", I looked at google and yahoo for information about that file and i didn't found nothing so what do you thinks it is really virus or nothing to worry about? what could be the best to do?

Yeah with a name like that it will be one.

Best booting into safe mode, and remove the file then since it wont be running in safe mode.

Also delete the contents of c:\windows\prefetch\ incase it resides there also.

Thanks for help dabhand the file is now quaretined I also the ditched the crack I feel a little paranoidwith that crack I have to opt for emulation for that game its strange that worked because is securom 4.83 and I usually have problems to emulate securom 4.83 or above that why I prefer the no cd cracks

Hey no problem, but its possible wherever the file came from before reaching its destination site, that along the way anyone could have embedded a virii into the exe and then wrapped it with some free wrapper like yoda or something.
