View Full Version : Burn Starforce ????
How to burn starforce game full image into CD.
The images 100% works and can run the game.
I Plan to burn the image, so i don`t need to unplug my IDE
( Game : Kingkong, X3, POP Two Thrones )
Thank`s
Not no way. There was a tool made by some warez group floating around the web that made a well created image burnable... I dont know if it will be legal to post here.... but it does its purpose, most of the time....
I believe 'rendari' is referring to 'sfcure'?
If so it is available at cdmediaworld.com (http://cdmediaworld.com/hardware/cdrom/cd_utils_8.shtml)
Dont ask me how to use it though? I havent tried it due to the fact I wont purchase or install starforce protected games! ;)

No, he doesn't refer to any tools, a group on the dark scene has develloped a tool to create burnable SF image only on CD (DVD burner are not able to burn kind of data on a DVD)
Then, in the readme text file, they say that is in beta stage, that is "CD Media" dependant", and the image works only in CD/DVD-ROM, not in a burner...
I tried to do an image of Track mania sunrise (i'm not able to backup mine) ... And it works, with MY serial number (then, now, i doubt that the serial is really linked to the physical media) .... No USB drive, no starforce tool, no image, just put the CD in the cd-rom an play it, like my original !
Yea i have also seen this program around it patches your image but as stated above only works with cds
@chrisdodge & hyakkii
Do a search of these forums, there is plenty of info about the programs (tools) you are talking about.
And I know rendari didnt actually mention any tool but he was obviously concerned it would not be allowed.
And no-one mentioned DVD's? The original poster only mentioned burning onto a CD.
All this info has already been posted here before.
But good on you for being 'alert' as the world really does need more 'lerts'. :p
(btw: just incase you dont understand, the lert statement is meant as a joke, just think about it a bit.) :D

Rendari should be refering to two tools called sfccdvd and sfmdf or something like that i downloaded them but are a problem to patch the images the process is very complex to me you need another program called bushound to record certains things from your drives when read the disks and use that information to patch but I couldn't understand nothing
Bushhound reads the topography of the disc precisely, while the other program injects the topography into the mds/mdf files.
Rendari could be refering to two tools called sfccdvd and sfmdf
hehehe, yes he could be? I only mentioned sfcure as that is what i 'believed' (thought) rendari may have been referring to.
But maybe thats where I went wrong! 'I thought'! :p :D ;)

So are you guys going to explain, or is it all hush, hush:)
All I wanna know is can I post a link to these tools so that I can prove GLH wrong and break forum rule #11? :D
Tis just a tool rendari, its the people who misuse it that are the tools :P
See that was cryptic there
I for the fun of it backed all my starforce games up using new alcohol and dvd-rw and installed from media and all was ok, but it dont work on dvd-r, i wasted 8 disks apart from trackmania sunrise and SC-CT which are older work for me anyhow i erased the media as i had played the games by now and was only going to mess up my installs after id completed.
True true. I'll post them when I get home. If I can find them lol. My hard drive is 300 GB of crap that is in no remote way organized :P

The tools u r refering to are the sfcddvd and related tools. There is a pretty big post on cdfreaks explaining how to proceed.
Anyway dont expect it will be easy. Method was not designed to novices, and "mirror" "group" just copied and pasted it without knowing what they r doing so well. Then, they spread images (95% not working) over inet and people gets confuses.
Respecting idea of it can be done, reply: YES, IT CAN BE DONE, BUT ONLY ON CDs.
Anyway u have a problem. In CdFreaks it is explained method, but what isnt explained is the way to obtain working logs. Thats what u wont find on PUBLIC inet sites (thats private ;) :P)
Peter Jackson's King kong, CRC2k5 and so on r perfectly burned and works on IDE DRIVES without emulation if correct ATIP hider is present (or drive is behind a RAID) (I have copies of all of them just to copy SF, i dont enjoy such games neither i play it, just copy, test, enjoy, and done)
Keep in mind general public wont access this method, cause it is not a "two click method". It is needed to take a calculator, and make some calculations for EVERY GAME/CD to be burned.
Method is still valid till newer check on SF 3.7 on CD appears.
TIP: This method is LEGAL, cause u can make a PERFECT (1:1, not 1:!/Emulated) copy of ur SF games.
TIP2: It is not a scene group who developed this method, just a few crew. Scene groups were behind, but they dont know almost a bit about hardware copyprotets.
Said.. ;)
