1) Create a Temp folder on your harddrive.
Name this folder: Quake4. This will be the name (Label) of our DVD.

2) Copy all the contents from CD3 to the Temp folder.
3) Copy all the contents from CD2 to the same Temp folder. Overwrite any files if prompted.
4) Copy all the contents from CD1 to the same Temp folder. Again overwrite any files if prompted.

5) Download and Install ‘Orca’
Once Orca is installed, Right Click the file ‘Quake 4(tm).msi’ and from near the top of the menu choose ‘Edit with Orca’. (You may have to edit the properties of this file and untick the ‘read only’ attribute, but as it is copied to the harddrive it is probably already edited automatically).
When opened you will see 2 window panes, go to the ‘Tables’ one on the left and scroll down to ‘Media’ Click on ‘Media’ this will show you the entries in the Right pane.
Change all the entries in the ‘VolumeLabel’ column to: Quake4
Then ‘Save’ it.

6) Create another folder/s for any Updates, Serial, Patches and or Cracks etc.
NOTE: Name this/these folder/s whatever you want.

7) Burn the contents of the Temp folder to a DVD with the Label: Quake4

Hello. First off. I would to say thank you for all the wonderful work you've put in to helping people making backups of their games. So. Thank you! :)

I tried to make a DVD out of my Q4 cds, but the one I bought contains 4 discs. I followed the instructions as stated, only adding an extra Quake4 in the volumelabel column. Also, I used Ultra Iso to make a test image; with the label Quake4, but I just get a 'please insert the proper disc' type of message. Any ideas? Would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for the help.

did you put the Contents of CD4 into the "temp" Folder too?

its the same like in Doom3, important is that the name of the DVD is the same as in the MSI installer, you can use any name or put the files in every Folder on DVD you want.

but i dont understand why it doesn´t work with Doom3 ROE Addon?

@gochtel
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I put the contents of CD4 into the same temp folder and named all volumes the same as per the intructions in this post. Also the image name inside Ultra ISO was the same as in the MSI installer.

Strange thing is that I had no problems with Doom3 and the expansion. I used the guide from this site... weird. :confused:

Dont create an iso, just burn the contents of your temp folder to a DVD-RW. An Iso will not always work!

Hi Grumpy.
Thanks for the info about Iso images. I didn't know that.
I have to appologize. I made an error in which I copied the CDs to the temp folder. I think I went 1-4 as apposed to 4-1. D'oh. I feel about 1mm tall, sorry.

@midfingr
We can all make mistakes. :)
With the iso's, yes than can be a good way to test a conversion, before burning to a DVD, but in some rare cases the only sure way to test is by burning to a DVD-RW then installing from that RW. If it works on the RW then it will definately work on a DVDR. ;)
