I know theres a maxi imgae on gamecopyworld.com but its for the DVD and its too big, does anyone know if theres a maxi image of the CD 1 of the NFS MW CD Version? Thanks
It aint too big if you read the thread (loads them about this game), do as it says and its under 2MB.

So basically you will then have tiny file of 1.23MB (ondisk size) on your HDD (only once you compress and reboot), and if your lucky like me you may not need hide daemon V4 anymore"

Sorry dude, but that didnt work I already checked the Compress contents to save disk space option and rebooted but it still is the same size.
Well, then I'm sorry, but the only way is to use the maxi image. You could compress it and decompress it only when you need it....
its not the same size ( look at my post here http://fileforums.com/showthread.php?p=304461#post304461 ) the filesize will always show full size of the image.
You can make your own maxi-images with programs such as Alcohol 120% or CloneCD using your original disk to make the image. ;)

Uhm, any information in this thread that is not covered by the FAQ already...?
You 100% sure, it works for me and others, are you actually checking HDD space before you even unrar file you grabbed here, then after unrar, compress, reboot or you going by text in the properties ?
BTW there is 2 mini images, im sure i got bottom one in list.
Hyakkii, I dont agree on the not needing reboot part, my pc is plenty fast and so is its SATA 16MB 300gig HDD, but i had to reboot even after 5 hours it hadnt changed size (i couldnt reboot as i was using pc till then), this was all from help from a peep here.
JOE stoap moaning thats twice you said that in here and thread linked to above (who the f00k reads FAQ's or RULE's anyhow), your like a broken down record player, i did state at top it was covered alsewhere, but im not going to sit here and see some peep stuck.

As for not reading the forum rules, there's absolutely no excuse for that. Also, I didn't spend almost half a day already with collecting information into the FAQ to see it become a shout in the wind; yes, it annoys me quite much that ignorant people just... well... ignore it.
Well i have nearly 3.5 decades under my belt as im 34 years old, its not a waste of time IMO if i can help peeps, unless ofcoarse they are lamers and have a attitude problem, but he seemed ok. :)
I help run a irc channel and everyone turneds of the motd, nobody but anal peeps read rules or FAQ's fully, anyone who can say they always do is a liar, cause its human nature to be bit lazy and skip boring parts, anyhow your only one in thread that had bee in bonnet about helping him lol.

I've also been very helpful for many years, as a high school and university student, but then 1) I got a job and the amount of my spare time dropped exponentially and 2) I realized that it shouldn't be me spending my time with answering questions asked directly or indirectly at me, rather the people asking questions should educate themselves more, by reading relevant material on the Net, which is what the Netiquette also suggests. (Yeah, I do read docs and FAQ's, whenever I have time to, because I just love learning new things!)
In my opinion, the very existence of this forum, with the great amount of information contained in it, is already very helpful for newbies, so I see no reason to babysit them even more. With the current, frighteningly low level of education in general, people should learn to learn, otherwise the last generation of knowledgable people will die out in a few decades and the remaining idiots won't know how to do anything!

You told him in an early thread to stop repeating a msg, etc.
And its a public forum, everything you post is subject to reply's and views by other posters.
And yes, when your an MSCE you have this luxury, and owning a store gives you more power with MS, since they want you to sell their software in your store, so they send out beta's for testing and for future sales possibilities.
Its called running a business.
Bollocks, MS dont ask for tester for alpha or prebetas all are internal only leaks get out, and at time you said this it was that timescale, i am part of the biggist alpha/beta irc network and we deal with MS, they dont just send out cd/dvds to peeps, you can sign up for beta testing and download or get media sent out, but not at time you claimed, so your full of it

If you want to try argue that you got longhorn alpha/prebetas sent to your shop by MS, come over to <edited>, there will most definately be MS staff lurking, but even i dont know who they are after 5 years there.

Are you an MSCE? is anyone in your irc channel an MSCE?
Just because your in an irc channel with people who run the channel, doesnt make them MSCE's or yourself for that matter.
Do they run a computer business of any sort? No?
Yes they DO send out betas to MSCE's and businesses. Its called promotion and with beta testing they can also iron out bugs.
Why shops? They have alot of hardware available to beta test the products correctly, unlike the individual end-user who on average only have 1 PC (some have more). So as you can see this is why they love Shops and Stores, and yes they do send them out, unless your not MCSE they wont be interested.
See when you pass your MSCE, you get the silly MS folder for discs, and they ask if you wish to participate in future beta testing, after all to get the MSCE your qualified enough to beta test.
Again this is a PUBLIC forum, whatever you post is subject to peoples replies and comments, you dont want people to butt into your posts, then use the PM system. Or stay in IRC and use /msg

@DABhand: Thanks for trying to defend me but there's no point in "winning" an argument only by saying "I'm a moderator so, by definition, I'm right" - even if forum rule #11 says exactly so, although, obviously, in a very different context... :D That would be using power instead of intelligence, which is disgusting; see politics for a "good" example!
@jhuk: As the current situation on this planet is, people DO NEED TO LEARN ENGLISH. Most software, including games, is in English; most Web pages are in English. So, what do you expect if you don't understand/speak English and try to use an international forum that called your attention to the fact, in the forum rules already, that it's in English only?
On the other hand, I always try to use simple English (partly because I'm too lazy to look up complicated words in a dictionary :D) in my documentations. If you think the language of the FAQ is too complicated (I think not, but that's only one opinion), feel free to contact me (in E-mail, the FAQ is way too big for a PM!) with a simplified version of it. Thanks!

Why would MS just give beta's and alpha's to staff? In a way that is what your saying, if the beta or alpha was leaked online, the serial would be traced back to them and they lose their lucrative salary.

And if you search the MS site well, you will find information about how to become a beta tester. Like most software houses.

Ill quote what ive said before in other threads.
I am tri-booting, between XP Pro, Vista Beta and 64x Trial.
And the 64x is in working order, the trial is for people to report on any bugs they find before release early 2006.
AFAIK Vista will incorporate both 32 and 64 bit editions.
Ive tried a beta they sent me, I own a shop and im a MSCE so I get software from them.
And Alcohol and Daemon installed not a problem for me.
Daemon 4 should be out soon, so that will work with 64 bit editions anyways, and Alcohol is due a release soon also with 64 bit support.
i want windows vista now! i have checked microsoft.com and apparantly you are not allowed beta 1 unless you are a designated beta tester,as i thought you would be able to download it liek you could windows 64 gold (trial version)
i wanted to put it on my other hard drive,so i didnt have to use it as a full operating system and just as a optional one.
