What is your computer specification.
Processor: AMD Sempron(tm) 3000+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.0GHz
Video Card. Geforce FX 5500
160GB Hardrive
768 MB of Ram
Should be enough to play it.
Latest Drivers installed?
I dont know what else to say, by all rights it should be starting up ok.
My only advice is to contact Atari or Shiny and tell them all you can and perhaps they can give more information.
Have you read the back of the box yet?
Under minimum requirements?
Operating System: Windows 2000/XP
Processor: Pentium 3/AMD Athlon 2GHz or faster
Memory: 512 MB RAM
Hard Drive Space: 6Gb free space
DVD-ROM: 6X CD ROM
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 5700 or ATI Radeon or greater*
Sound Card: DirectX 9 compatible sound card
DirectX Version: 9.C or later
*Hardware T&L videocards that do not support shaders, such as the GeForce4 MX or Intel Extreme family are not supported
Your 5500 is not supported unfortunately.

These requirements are for optimum performance of play. And geforce fx 5500 supports shaders and directx 9... It can't be unsupported by a game yet.
You talk like unsupportation of voodoo 3s by games that need 32-bits colors. But this case is not like that.
The problem may occur from the operating system or an unstable program.
That is the minimum requirements not optimal ones. Nobody sells a game with optimal requirements on the back of a game box, how would people know if their machines could run it? They guess?
That list of requirements is direct from Atari, you think they make up these lists for a laugh?
Honestly though know what your talking about first.
