Half-Life 2: Where to copy the german language pack?? (*.gcf)

I have installed the HL2 game and everything works fine. but now I want to play the game in german. for that I´ve got a language-pack (about 700 mb). but where do I have to copy this *.gcf - file?? to which directory?? thx for help

If you own the original game, just switch the steam-language to german, everything will work then.

Maybe you have to re-download some files. Do you have other .gcf-files in your install dir? Where?
