Sound Card Question [Archive]

hi

I want to play quake 4 bad but after doing some checking, found that my sound card does not support AL or something like that

It is an onboard one and they ain't expensive, but so many of them in different shapes and sizes, anyone recommend one that is cheap ish but good

get an old sound blaster live, they are cheap as chips now and they have eax and 5.1 surround tech, so not bad ;)

No prob mate, i run a sb live (the very first one) with cambridge soundworks 4.1 speakers and i get awesome surround sound, enjoy it mate :D
