View Full Version : AGP Speed
Does someone know how to set the AGP speed (NVIDIA) ?
Well normally you would set it in the bios, but then it depends on the graphics card and the AGP capabilities on the motherboard as to what speed it can be set to.
ie If the graphics card is AGP 8X, then the AGP slot on the motherboard must also support AGP 8X and so on.
just as henry said it is mostly set in bios.
However it might not always be correctly initialized if set to auto.
ATi drivers (and probably nVidia too) offers the option to set the AGP speed in the drivers. So if you set the AGP to 8x in bios you can set it to 4x in the drivers, but more is often better right? :p
If your motherboard is of older model and perhaps a little cheaper there might be a jumper on the motherboard to set the AGP speed but in that case you probably only have AGP 2x anyway so..
I didnīt found an AGP option in BIOS. I tried the prog Riva Tuner and set it to 4x speed but this did not work. Itīs still 1x. My Motherbord supports up to 4x and my Graphics Card up zo 8x, but the speed wonīt change either. This is a big prob, i think, so...
HEEEEEEELLP !!!
...and my Graphics Card up zo 8x...Up to 8x or only 8x ???
Your AGP speed will be APG 2x and not 1x... :p
Anyway you should have an option somewhere in your bios... How old is your motherboard and what is the name of it? Please write that down here and it might be a little easier to help you out! :)
