I am trying to back up my sons PS2 DVD game with DVD Descriptor. (Godzilla) I was able to burn it successfully on TDK 16x DVD-R disc. But when I try to test them on the PS2 machine it is not recognizing the disc with the message that the disc is neither a Playstation or Playstation 2 disc. I have followed all the steps specified in the forum for using DVD descriptor. Any help will be appreciated.

I do not have a mod chip. Do I need one for the PS2?

I have a ps2 with messiah2 pro installed about 2 years ago,
it is giving trouble for some reason, it does not play ps2 dvd or cd backups anymore, the laser is not gone because it still boots up the original ps2 dvd and cds perfectly, but ps1 original and backups work.

Have you changed your media lately? If not, you may want to double-check nothing has gone awry with the install (i.e.: a loose wire :( )...

when you put in a game does is go to the browser screen when booting originals if so then could be the laser. saying that if it still booting well could be a wire come off as lufcfan said or the chip has blown(unlikely but still) if you would like me to have a look at it for you give us a pm

It's definately chip or install related then :(

That's because PS1 games are authenticated through the SCEX point, and PS2 games are authenticated on the wires soldered to the underside of the board onto the CDVD Controller. The two disc authentication points are different, hence PS1 boots, and PS2 doesn't...
