Hi!

I'm interested in buying an S-video cable for PS2, but i'd like to know if PS2 is capable of outputting s-video or the cable is just outtputing composite signal via S-Video lead. I know that PS2 is capable of outtputing YUV or RGB signal (component), but i don't know about s-video.

Does anyone know?

Yes it supports S-Video. It is all I use. Much better video output than the RCA cables supplied with the PS2.

S-video will definitely increase the sharpness. Ps2 even support component on some games

You'd probably mean progressive scan on some games, rather than component since component is "supported" on all games. Progressive scan REQUIRES component cables to work.

Oh my god!!!

I received the S-Video cable and I still cannot believe the difference!
I was comparing the S-Video and the composite cable and the difference is huge.

Now i have to make up for the 10 lost years of "composite play"!

Every one owning a gaming console should play with S-Video or better.
