ps2 problems

i have a ps2 with a magic 2 in it and it is not reading any ps1 or ps2 games. ive had it about 3 years and it has worked fine and then one day it just stopped reading games completely. is there any way to fix it or clean my laser without sending it away or opening it.

lasers usually go bad gradually over time. If it just suddenly stoped playing i would suspect a wire or cable came loose although 3 years is about the life span of most lasers.

Or possibly when they've had a knock or fallen over....... :rolleyes:
