View Full Version : Mars III problem
I tried to find some answers here but i seem to be the only one heving this problem.
I installed a Mars III chip in a V10 playstation (50004b) but I can't get it to work.
When I turn on the ps2 with an original dvd game I get a red schreen thet tels me to put in a ps2 disk. If I turn on the machine with no disk the browser screen is all f**ked up.
When i boot with the Mars in sleep mode everything works fine.
What am I doing wrong?
Check all your solder points for continuity and bridging using a multimeter. Without seeing a picture of the install, it's a little hard to suggest anything specific to you... :)
I checked it 3 time's allready. Today I soldered the B-I pints directly to the contriller instead of the via's, but still the same
ps. ps1 back-ups seems to boots fine.
Do you have a picture of the install?

It's a bit blurred to be able to tell anything there. Any chance of a better picture?
Sorry, I had to take the picture with my phone. This is the best I can do.
Today I took out the chip end send it back. It was the wrong chip anyway.
I ordered a Messiah but the send me the Mars (probbebly tried to rip me of), now I wait for the messiah to come and I wil trie it again.
Thanks anyway
sounds like the place you bought it from is either a bit thick, or a bit dodgy... :(

Yeah, I'd say. Why did you even try to install it if it wasnt the chip you ordered anyway?
I found out that it wasn't a messiah after I installed it
It was a long time ago that i installed a messiah so i didn't know what a new messiah looked like.
Even on the diagrams was printed messiah.
