hi.

i have an 6800 ulta from msi and its doing a damn fine job in runing games , but the new 7800gtx is out and it has 32 pipelines and supports the latest shaders as well.

my question is i wanted to get the 7800gtx and sell of my 6800u but people tell me that that you wont see a large change in frame rate currently as the system i allready have is quite good.

what do u think , is the 6800u at par with the 7800gtx .

Also i wanted to know that in the future i wanted to upgrade my system , and this is what i wanted to get .

MSI 955 or 945 Chipset Board
or Intel 955 Chipset board Original

2 gb of DDR-2 Ram
7800 GTX 256MB
Sound Blaster 4
2 * 200GB SATA Western Digital Hard Disks
500w Enermax PSU

but the thing is these things in Pakistan cost a bundle , should i wait or does my current system adequate enough.

Intel 3.0e HT 800 FSB
2 GB DDR-400 Kingston
MSI - Fx-6800 U Graphics Card
Sound Blaster 2 ZS
7.1 Creative THX Speakers
Sony DVD Writer
Sony DVD Rom
Sony CD Writer
2 * 200 GB SATA Western Digital HDD
1 * 80 GB IDE hdd
ASUS Tv-Tuner
Intel 875 PBZLK mobo with the latest bios update
400 Watt PSU from Codegen
21 Inch Flat Screen HP Monitor CRT

Well as the 7800 is PCI-E, your not going to fit it into an AGP slot.

Prices are on the move(hopefully down), so I would hold on upgrading just now as your system is far from inadequate.

If you have 6 months, you should hold out. Your system is fine as it is. Vista will be out in about 6 months or so, there will probably be a new card out by then that is better. If ther isn't, then the price will go down on the card you want.

No point in getting it for top dollar if there isn't going to be a niticable change.

I agree with Quall.. Don't bother for awhile. Games won't even push the brink of the 6800 for awhile.. No big deal.
