I currently have SHIII 1.0 with no-dvd crack. I want to update to 1.4b and use the mini-image. Which patch should I download, DVD version or download version? Is the download version starforce-protected?

The patch for downloaded version is for those who bought the game via Direct2Drive. DO NOT USE IT if you have SH3 on DVD. BTW, the mini-image as I recall, does not work for any patch. It's simply due to the fact that StarForce will be updated by the patch and the mini-image will no longer be able to fool it.

Ok you mean that there is no way to play 1.4b without dvd... Has anybody perhaps successfully patched to 1.4b and used the mini-image?

The post didn't claim either way. Just confirming that it's not possible to play without the DVD in the drive.
