I have recentley bought my first DVD burner but I can't get it to work properly. It took me about four hours to burn 3 GB (2 hours) of video with nero. This is partly because the original .avi format had to be converted (by nero) to another format but I still can't believe that it should take that long. I also tried burning a regular data disc of mpg files, but when I tried playing them on my DVD-player, it couldn't locate any files at all. Shouldn't any DVD-player be able to play mpg files? The mpg files required codecs to work with mediaplyer on my computer computer, can that be the reason why they don't work on my DVD-player?

What would you say would be the best way to make a DVD film out of say two avi .files? I have tried just adding the files to a folder on the DVD but that doesn't seem very nice. So how would You do? What software do you suggest? Also, which is the easiest way to burn a movie consisting of two cd-ISOs to one dvd?

The time to convert an avi to dvd compliant format is hardware dependant and it can take some amount of time (even a few hours!).

Generally speaking, the best way to make 2,3,4 or more cds to one DVD: Be aware of the codec, get a joiner for that, get a converter for that and then burn it to DVD.

And, not all DVD players can play mpeg movies......
