I have had a Matrix infinity in my PS2 for about a year now, and I rarely update the bios because I read that it only has so much memory it can hold. My question is: How man times can you flash it with upgrades ? And once it is full, can you erase the old ones and replace them with new ones. Or am I going crazy and do the newer bios just overwrite the old ones ?

Any feedback will be appreciated

Thanks

It overwrites the old ones.
There is a certain limit for the number of rewrites flash memory can take but that's way more than the number of bios updates team matrix is ever going to release.
However, there were some cheap matrix clones that ceased to work after being upgraded to 1.4x bios and you might want to consider that if you're unsure about its origin.

I got the chip from modchipman, I am pretty sure that its not a clone.

He is saying the same thing you are.

well...true but i just thought I'd make it clear that the number of times the chip should be flashed is irrelevant, which was in fact, a clear answer to his original question.
