Even though you may well own the original CD i think you will find most people here will not send you anything (data cab/original exe etc) as this is against the rules here (i think). Bytemare was correct in his post suggesting you contact tech support but i know only to well sometimes they need a good kick up the ass. There is no-way we can confirm that what you show is "your" original CD and case is there because after all i to could easily get hold of the disk print and box image to post on here stating its proof i own the original. (im not saying dont mind im just saying we cant confirm it thats all). Hopefully now you will understand why your original thread was closed.

PS mabey you should name your thread more descriptivly

If you got it as a present then ask the person you got it from to exchange it.

Try to read the file from another CD-ROM drive, everyone around you has got one. Some drives can read tortured CDs while others cant.

@Goldey
Glad to hear it all worked well. Now make sure you definately do what 'Eagle' suggested and back it up.
It does go to show that just because a disc is scratched it is not always lost. ;)

One word of advice that I, the paranoid person that I am, always do: whenever you make an image of a CD (any CD!), mount the image (Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120%, whatever) and do a recursive file compare between the CD and the mounted CD image. If 1) there are read errors on the CD image and 2) all files on the CD image are identical to those on the CD, then the CD image is - at least, on the file level - correct.

As for the copy protection, it may or may not be correct but - unless the installation is already copy protected, some very evil games do that! - you will be able to install/update/crack the game from the image, too. Good luck,
