So that's £55 ($80) for the chip
3 hours to fit, that's £80 ($115)
And no import originals without swap.

Oh dear.

It's hard to believe anyone would go through the trouble installing this knowing it wont boot import originals or dvdr backups without swap. I am not wasting my time with it, to me the neo 2.2 is just as good so i am sticking with it until something a hell of a lot better than this is released.

Sheesh!
I'm not wasting my time and money on it. I never realized how ridiculous the amount of wires were until now. I don't think it's worth the 5 seconds of swapping. I prefer to use dvdr backups anyway than rips.

Correct me if i am wrong but i believe you have to patch ea titles for them to work no swap.

Goedude's post highlights what I've been saying:

At this time, NEO4 is no good if you want to boot import originals. For example, a game comes out early in Japan or USA. So you buy it from Computer Exchange, Madeira Games or Gamestation- chances are now that it's a DVD. You want to boot it on your PAL PS2. How do you do that on NEO4? Lob out £400 for the Pioneer A03 DVD burner to make DVD-R? Spend a week trying to rip the game you've just bought to CD without a tutorial because the game is new?

NEO4 is good for no swap CD-R backups. Is it worth the 33 wires? Does that matter so much? If your NEO2.2 is functioning well why bother going to NEO4?

When MESSIAH hits the streets, that'll do the job. Or OrigaChip (which I use).
