I didn't really have any problems copying my discs of JA back when it came out. I used Alchohol 120, so I don't know why you're having problems. Have you tried finding out what type of protection the discs use? If not, do so and specify the protection when making a 1:1 copy with Alcohol. I would tell you the protection, but it was quite a long time ago that I bought that game.
the copy protection is securom v4 so i used its profile but im not getting it to work right. when i put in the image in daemon tools it still asks me for cd1. my guess at first was that the image was corrupt but do you think it could be because its trying to read the cdrom drive from which it was installed and not the virtual drive?

Possibly, and also your CD drive might not be able to make a good clones.

when i select alcohol to read at 1x it always dumps at the highest speed that my burner can handle. is this a setting with alcohol or the burner? i have a pioneer a06 dvd writer.
actually no-cd cracks (exe) do not work as they should. therefore the "clones" are the best way to get a game running without using the cd.
i just ripped the cd with the standart settings: "ignore reading errors" and "read sub-channel data" (i dunno the correct terms for i use the german version of alcohol 120).
if you have problems getting jedi academy started with the clone (you can use the mini-image at GCW (http://m1009.gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_sw_jedi_academy.shtml) as well) you should do the following:
# start the registry editor (start -> run -> regedit)
# go to the following location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\LucasArts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\1.0
# apply the value of CDPath, Source Dir and Source Path to the emulated letter - e.g. if your standart cd drive is shown like E:, just change it to X: where X is the emulated drive (alcohol or daemon)
now you should be able to start the game without a cd.
hope this helped a little bit...

just use the mini image from gcw - works fine for me (cracks can cause parset error or so) - and u can update the game without problems.
or another way - make a copy with alcohol - go to www.copybase.ch and replace ur mds file with the one from the site... so u got ur clone (but u cannot burn it if ur drive is not be able to)
