Game World Direct in liquidation!

Heres a copy of an email I got this morning.............

Due to my short sightedness in choosing my business partner I have been forced to liquidate my business with immediate effect.
As I am sure you will appreciate I do not want to be drawn into giving a mass of details but I will go as far as to say that a substantial amount of money has gone missing including monies due to suppliers as well as monies paid for goods so at this point no goods pending will be dispatched and no suppliers paid.
On advice from my solicitor I am advised that customers should contact our local Police with any enquires regarding pending goods or monies owed:

** UPDATE UPDATE ** GAME WORLD DIRECT HACKED!?!? **

Apologies to all customers for the recent email you received.

The email and website massages are completely untrue, and we believe was posted by a competitor to try and disrupt our business.

Please rest assured that we are still here, and going no-where. All orders are safe and secure, and normal service will resume shortly.

We are now investigating who has tried to damage us like this, and the police have been informed.

We are now in the process returning to normal service. The shop and forums will be available to view very soon. Thanks for your patience.

Hi Guys, a big sorry from us about the hack, we would not like to quote who it could be while the police investigate.

All i will say is that, if your asumption is correct, i spent over £8500 with said person for bulk stock over the last 10 months, I also have a good idea too.

What amazes me is that because of their own failings in customer service, they have to target little old me, hows this for an idea, keep all your current customers happy, then they would not leave and come to me!!

But the good news is that by doing it the way they have, the police are now involved, and if caught, i will get alot of the business anyway, and keep my customers happy!!

Thanks for all the support too from many customers, they are dying to know who, i think his time is almost up.....watch for a site stopping trading very soon, then you will all know the answer!!

Also thanks to sean for all your support, i do remember you as a customer, the way it should be.

If it is who we think, would you do this to someone who has spent £8500, or would you do everything possible to keep them spending?? I hope you read this too.......your days a numbered!!

Lol I thought it would be him if anyone, someone I know just said to me they bought a pre-mod xbox off him, arrived damaged but as it was a present didn't find out till like the 30th day, and now wont replace/fix or even touch the xbox.

Quick update - I got my PS2 v12 back on Friday all nice an upgraded - in prefect working order :D

Many thanks to all @ Game World Direct for their support and especially to Ben, who remained in contact with his customers despite all their troubles.

Overall, excellent communication and product turn-around considering the sh*t storm they were dealing with...

Will be coming back to you guys again in future, hope you get those responsible for the upset.

Hi, just received this email this morning, this is getting silly.




'Please disregard any information on our web site, my partner has seized control in what can only be described as a last attempt to steal yet more money from other poor innocent victims. We have been informed that there is now a warrant out for his arrest and feel this also explains his sudden disappearance from his home address abandoning his wife and children.

Once again I will repeat the GameWorldDirect experience is over. The company had been forced into liquidation and no orders or liabilities can be covered.

Hi Guys, me again!!

I did not think I would have to make another post, but here goes!!!

The person, who hacked us if correct, still has all your email addresses.

He will use this to spam you all, i can only say sorry for this.

Any email that says we are going away, or is negative to us, is not from us 100%, you have a delete key, please use it!!

Read the posts in this topic, its very strange how a certain persons name is mentioned, one post mentions, I better change m passwords because someone has logged in using my account!!

All the work of the Tw@t who did this, not us!!

Read our feedback, read what customers say about us, it’s really obvious that the person responsible does not want us trading because we do a better job than they do......

But I cannot stop the emails, anybody who held an account with us before the 1st of June will get spam, I wish I could stop it, but I can’t.

Anybody who knows me and trusts in what I do, please put the record correct in as many places you can, these recent attacks are giving GWD a bad name, when its not justified, even in this post, even when I was having all this trouble, I still had a very happy customer!!!

Use your common people, you know what’s right and wrong, I conduct my business in a professional way, and pride myself on customer service!!

I really don't know what to think. its very much 50/50 at the moment, 50% of my emails say all is legit and some plonker is out to cause trouble, and 50% of my emails state that then company is a hoax, in hoax hands ready to conn us out of our money.

To be honest, i need a lil more convincing but i do not want to take the gamble.

I crossing my fingers that the hoax is in the plonker out to cause trouble and that GWD will be as it states, a once again proud name.

To be honest, I must say that when I got the email this morning, i believed it to be the hackers at play again - and it seems I was right. :mad:

I wholy trust Ben and GWD as what he offers is simply a fantastic service - and the products I have received have all been simply faultless and second to none. Fact. :)

I will continue to purchase from GWD - and I'm fully behind bringing this ar*ewipe down who has tried this stunt.

Hi all, just came across this post and felt i couldn't read it without making a reply.
I run a site offing similar services to Ben at gameworld and have recieved nothing but support from them right from the outset. I bulk buy from them and have always recieved top products and support and wouldn't now go anywhere else. I have placed some large orders whilst all this has been going on with the hackers and have recieved the same top notch service as ever and can't recommend GWD more highly. Ben don't let the hacker get you down mate!

Another message from the hackers about how GWD is shutting, and how customers will be without suppliers. He says, please use one of the following suppliers 'who were my mates'. He then gives a list of at least 100 suppliers long.

I have simply set up a rule in Outlook to permenantly delete any e-mails from the address '[email protected]' so I don't even get to look at them. This hacker is doing my f***ing head in sending me his sh*t.

3 further emails over night, 1 of which held contact details for i'm not sure if whole customer list.

I'm becoming more convinced that someone is really p****d off with mr ben there and is out and determined to shut him down.

This contact list can only be sent out as an act of spite, surely no liquidation company would do such thing.

Seeing the website working fully and that these emails are becoming more and more desperate is convincing me more and more.

Ben, good luck getting this sorted mate, i willing to bet this is stressing you to hell and back.

Comon people, post your recent experiences with GWD since the start of this event and lets help get ben with a great big smile on his face.

Well i've not had any emails for a few days now.

Has this hacker been caught or is he laying extrmely low lately.

Although the site is not currently running and holds the following message:

'We are closed for annual holidays from the 15th to 29th of June. Due to recent events, I have decided to remove all products for sale until my return. This will enable me to concentrate on other matters, and clear any outstanding install and repair work. Just to make clear, we will re-open when I return, 100%. I know some maybe thinking this is it for GWD, I promise its not, we just need to take stock of the current situation, and amend it as best we can. You can still contact me on the various methods until the 14th, and then email queries will be answered for the 2 weeks break. And the site monitored! Yet the site does hold all its banners, so its looking like this hacking has come to an end to me.
