Do you need anything besides swap magic discs to play backups and imports? I heard you need to do something else but i dont know what it is.

Dude, most of us here use real modchips so not many will help. My understanding is you must use a plastic clip supplied with the Swap magic disc or apply tape over the tray sensor. Do a little research ;)

I'm in the same boat. Have the flip top with the swap magic. Would love to hear if anyone gets it to work.

The flip top is a waste of time now. A few months back they released a new set of clips for the pstwo which allow the drive cover to be fully closed after doing the swap.

Chuck them in the bin
