View Full Version : Our noble Crackers are losing the war.
The great holy war waged against the vile anti social conglomerate by our noble hackers is in crises.
As we know our honourable hacking knights, for century’s have kept copy protection from our doors and preserved our gaming life blood from being sucked from our viens. But the battle has taken a turn for the worst. The dark protection ghouls have invented some cruel and inhuman weapons. The new and most deadly being the starforce ballistic, also updates to the sururom siege tower and the safedisk crossbow have put our brave guardians under grave pressure, their finger tips have become bleeding stumps, their eyes, molten orbs from their relentless battle at the keyboard relic, yet still these knights of the round computer bench battle on.
The time for complacency is over we must rise and support our pizza eating heroes, the gauntlet is thrown to the cold slabs of the hackers floor, shall we pick it up?
Death to the foul hordes of copy protection.

Time for redemption have arrived. The honourest ones have fallen into deep caves, and like dragoons do, only appears for a while in centuries. The standart adventurers just keep a small light world with a weak sword, but darken clouds arrives too fast. Time for redemption have arrived... Would a hero appear in this caotic world?, prophecy says it...but today? just wait. Patience is a victory in its own concept... Evil will be defeated again, just wait for redemption.

Why you call them Evil? Software companies are only protecting their investments, perhaps look at the broadband warez kiddies who dont buy games who are evil, since its their actions that force the use of protections like Starforce.

You Godless Plank of zero humour.
Im beginning to think that your one of those broadband kiddies, this is typical of people who are against protections.
You never take into account that its other peoples actions that cause these things.
Say your car is stolen, and you get a new one, are you not going to put on more security to stop it happening again? Ofcourse you will. This is the same for Publishers, they do not want to lose business so they protect their investments.

No I wouldn’t mainly because I could only afford another 3 wheeled wreck and no further security would be affordable. But if I had a car like the head of a software company or the boss of Star force security’s, then yes I would.

DABhand,
You definitely need to raise your humor acceptance level! dajunka's and Morglum007's post were great, I like them! :D
Also, please, spare us the bullsh*t of comparing software with physical objects. As I described it before, these two cannot be compared to each other... that is, until Star Trek's replicator solves the problem of the exact duplication of physical objects... ;)
Joe
Oh Joe your attitude is so tiresome lately :P
Its not bull, its just the fact people like yourself wont admit that is the way of things.
No matter what hungarian copy right protection you throw at me etc, it is still the way of things.

Hey DABHand,
No matter what hungarian copy right protection you throw at me etc, it is still the way of things.
Which shows the shortsightedness of you, lawmakers (in most countries) and software publishers (note I wrote publishers, not manufacturers/developers!).
Also, when I pointed (tried to point?) out that you're wrong, I explained it carefully. When you pointed (tried to point?) out that I'm wrong, you gave no detailed explanation. So, whose attitude is tiring? Why do you expect me to admit I'm wrong and you're right when you provide no details on which you base your beliefs (facts?)? I took part in quite a few threads - related to the inherent problems between copy protection and the ability of honest customers to make a backup etc. - and I described my opinion. So, you must know what I think. I have no idea what you think. So, you might wanna explain at last...

Who said that every downloaded game would be a purchased game if its not ablwe to download this Game and play without original.
These crap firms are imho the bad guys, with their stupid sequels, buggy Games, big prices for 10hours to play a game to the end etc....
I only buy Game who are worth it!
To war, to war people!!!
But pleease can we keep the fight away from the forums? :D
When discussing any kind of backuping one must take into consideration the different laws in different countries. That is something that really must be thought about as more and more software companies (and other companies) tries to make rules that is world wide.
Anyway, I kinda liked the way the thread started but those negative posts made me feel sad... :(
