I am running Windows XP and SP1. I am using DVD Decrypter 3.5.30 in "ISO - Read" mode to make a backup of one of my PS2 games to the hard drive. This works with no problem. Then I use "ISO - Write" mode to burn this image to a Verbatim 4.7 GB DVD+R at 1x speed. My dvd writer is a Lite-On SOHW-1633S. The burn is successful, but when I use Swap Magic 3.6 plus, and load the newly backed-up game, there are audio skips in the beginning logo sequence, and during the game, whenever there is any dialogue.

* Is there something I am doing wrong in the above process that is resulting in this audio skip problem?
* Would the speed at which the game is copied to the hard disk be a factor?
* When I select 1x as the burning speed in DVD Decrypter and start the burn, I see that in the information section, the write rate is 4.0x. Is this correct - isnt it supposed to be 1x?
* Could the media be faulty?
* Is there better software that I should be using?

Please, any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Try different media.

Use DVD-R instead of DVD+R, and there's nothing wrong with your DVD Decrypter settings, I've never made a coaster using this software, I always use it for my backups.

The laser in the PS2 is having trouble reading the discs by the sounds of it. Either replace the laser in the PS2 or better yet, try DVD-R media as the other guys have already mentioned.

If it still skips on DVD-R media, then most likely your laser is shot.
