I've just dl'ed the v1.0b patch (US) and tried to update my game. Its keep processing files fine untill it reaches the main file "swkotor2.exe"...

When this file is sub-processed to 25%, the patcher crashes and i get an error report...

Afterwards, if i got to the directories of the game, i see different RT###### file fro every actuall file.

So, the game is so not patched + an updated )encrypted) file is there for every old file (so double space) + a crash to top it all off...

I am sad...

My file are completely original and there is no modification made to the game ever...

Hi doomerdgr8,

Please, quote the exact error message. Also, have you tried uninstalling, reinstalling and then patching the game? (M$-style solution... :D )

If you have overwriten the original swkotor.exe with a cracked one you have to overwrite the cracked one with the original to patch the game

Wow!! Quick n Lot response!!

GLH, I am searching on this problem on the game forum (http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=147645) now.

Joe, The error occurs internally and windows error report tool appears. Also, after debugging registers using Visual Studio 2003, It points to something like Illegal Access, Invalid Access, OR No permission to access. Can't figure out the correct one...
...my file are NOT read-only and the folder has full access (NTFS drive though)...

redmen, I may forget my BDay, but I'll never forget to backup any/all files that may get overwritten during a fixx!! Before running my patch, all files were original. EXCEPT the "swupdate.exe". It updated itself to v2.01 (from v2.00) first and then told me there was an update avaliable but as there was no resume-support in this tool, I stopped the dl and went in myself...

BTW, You guys are great for replying...
