Swat 4 ( couple of questions)

Hi ppl. This is the next game i want to purchase (swat 4). After looking on CD-mediaworld it states its protected with "secuROM new". Has anyone here backed up Swat 4. (UK original shop version, not a D/L version). If so i would like to know if the UK version is also protected with "secuROM new" and if its also CD-ROM or DVD and im intrested to know which software was choosen to back it up ?(Nero,clone,alcohol etc). Before i buy a game i like to know if im going to be able to back it up etc. (I have children, I have learnt an expencive lesson in the past). Thanks.

SWAT is protected with SecuROM v5 as stated on GCW.
I am not aware if anyone has succesfully made an 1:1 copy of SWAT4. However it is possible making a backup using the NoCD on GCW.
I can not make an 1:1 copy as my NEC 2510A can't handle it.

Thats easily done, copy all files from the CD's to your HDD and add the NoCD into the folder where you copied the files.
If you feel like you can make a DVD version while you're at it. :)

Thanx for the speedy reply. I have sucsesfully made 1.1 back-ups in the past (with my old CD/RW drive) but have yet to try with my DVD-RW. As for your advice about copying cd contents onto HDD then burning onto CD (Thats a way i use frequently when trying to back-up the more stubon copy-protected games. (Many ppl critisize Nero but i love it,Its able to do more tasks than clone etc and i havent come across a game i havent been able to backup with perservirence. (excuse spelling mistake,never was a strong point of mine). I just want to know who has made a working backup (dosent have to be a 1.1) and what software they used to do it. (to many ppl think its all hardware related but the software used for certian games is just as important). Any info will be read,and appreciated..

i bought swat4 right away on friday. backed it up for security reasons. i used an rather old version of clonecd on my even older ricoh mp-7200a cd-burner. both 2 backup-cds of my german retail are working fine. no probs (i encountered so far).

btw: the game rocks! especially in mp. :D

the demo was quite buggy. but the game exceeds the demo in nearly every way (imo). the look and feel is just great. i hope that some issues are adressed in a patch soon. the mp is great, but lacks some functionalities one would expect from a tac-shooter.

However that to is a game that one can compleat easily. It all depends on how technicaly you want to play the game i guess. When i played through raven shield i continually re-loaded if me or one of my men was shot. I had to compleat it perfectly. What setting did you play it through on Xbox Luci ? I hope it wasnt hard. Thats something i do as standard. Play through any game on the most difficult option 1st to get a longer life out of it. (im a tight sod who wants every penny's worth). :D

You can modify the SWAT 4.msi file so that it can install from a DVD instead of 2 CDs.

i played it on normal but it was TOO easy.i was then(and still am(a real noob at xbox so when i want to point to an enemy it takes me about 4-5 secs!!!!!i lost 2-3 times when i couldn't find a bomb

Ive been following the progress of this one due to anticipation and its not as far as im aware a XBOX port.

Hi guys.I have a serious problem with SWAT.Every time i quit the game my pc crashes and displays a blue screen with the message "IRQL_LESS_OR_NOT_EQUAL".And the really annoying thing is that the progress i have made in the game is erased and it starts from the beginning ? Does anyone know where the game keeps the saves so that i can minimize it during play and copy them in a safe folder ? 'Cause i can't seem to know of any other way to fix the problem...thanx in advance !

@ unheimlich. Just installed the game so once i have created a profile etc/saved a game ill post back later tonight (UK time) and tell you where the directory is. Are you using a nocd/fixed exe ? If so have you tried playing the game from the original disks without a fixed exe to see if your problem still occurs ?. Are you able to run the game from the original disk ? If you post again post as much info as poss so "we" can help sort you out.

I'm playing the game from the original disc !! Actually i installed the crack to see if it helps,but nothing happened...I looked in the game folder for the saves
but i can't seem to find the files(you can't save,the game autosaves after the completion of each mission).
I think that my problem is based on a conflict between two devices of my pc.Maybe the soundcard and the video-card,sharing the same IRQ.But why does SWAT cause it ? Why other games play normally ? And why does it only happen when i quit the game and not during it ? That's what i can't figure out... :confused: :confused:

every time i load swat 4 without shutting down zone alarm, avg and spy bot i get the following error message below, when i do shut all three down and run the game, i can only enter the traing and first two missions in career mode before i encounter this error. I have deleted the .ini file as instructed and im currently running the game using the SWAT 4 v1.0 [ENGLISH] Fixed EXE from reloaded.

Its US Retail version.

How can't you backup SWAT4? There's a crack for this game. If you have a DVD writer refer to the CD2DVD conversion thread and there are instructions for SWAT4.

@ dederon Or simply back up both CD's using CD's. I diddnt bother with a CD to DVD conversion (even though my DVD RW is more than up to it ;) ).
I dont understand why you can't back up Swat 4. What program have you attempted to back up swat 4 with and what happens when you attempt to back up swat 4 ?. Put simply your explanation isnt in depth enough. Post as much info as to why you cant back swat 4 up and then we will know where to point you. (To be honest though SecuRom 5 isnt that hard to do). Have you managed to back up both disks (100%) but are having trouble installing the game from back up or having trouble playing the game from back up ?. Has the back up you made been able to install ?. Answere these and anything else you deem to be relevent.

Ok it sounds like you have made a working back up. (If game installs 100 % then its a working backup). Crack dont work for you ? Have you ever used a crack before ? (my guess is not). The crack thats hosted here @ GCW works fine (trust me). Its for v1.0 shop retail game but as far as im aware there isnt an update for the game anyway. All you have to do is simply do a full install of game (max install). Download the crack for swat 4 from GCW. Unzip it and replace the exe (will have pic of swat 4 on it once unzipped) with the exe from the original install location. = replace the exe for swat 4 with the cracked exe. If you have never used a crack before the use the search button and look up a thread named vice city because i did a step by setp on how to use a crack for nOoBs. (everything is the same even though its a diff game).

What do you mean exactly when you say the crack wont work for you ?. What error message (if any) do you get when trying to run the game. (you dont run the game from the crack by the way, you just use the normal shortcut etx to run game once the exe's have been changed). Let me know how you get on.

Well thats the situation we are all in. (once a game is updated we need a new updated crack for it also. Worry not as im sure some kind sole will deliver what we seek. May be a little while after the game update is released but we will just have to use the original until then wont we.). It will be done (updated crack). PS when is the official game update due for release ? (as i was unaware of any patch/update due out :confused: )

i have played many games using cracks from gamecopyworld.

i also have cd's which are so old that still works, so u don't need to worry about them being damaged.

@ x-mido I do not hate you. Why would i ?. What i dislike is ppl like your self posting the sh*te you posted and asuming game-copy-world is for the use of warez. (it is not). With all the different laws in different countries linked to warez and the ILEGAL download of games sites like game copy world etc etc have to be careful whats posted or more importantly whats tolerated by the site so ppl like your self do not help when they blatently anounce to the world what they are up to. If you do download games,utils keep that info to your self !! (it is not :cool: to let ppl know) :rolleyes: . If every body only downloaded warez what would that do to the consumer ? I will tell you it would kill of the supply of newly formed games devleopers,publishers resulting in us (the consumer) not having the wide variety of choice we have today.
If a games designer,etc etc suffers from bad sales due to ppl downloading their game (which incedentaly could be great) they go under resulting in yet another small development team split up and destroyed and no more great titles comming from that perticular development team.

x-mido, if you really piss the admins off and get a "permban", you won't be able to re-register yourself after a ban, as, if I'm not mistaken, your IP address (range) will also get banned. So, take it easy!
