Hi,

I finally manage to create a functional backup of Splinter Cell 3
with starforce 3.4.75.03(set through 1.01 patch) but what a mess
(must use an external USB2.0 DVD reader   )

I was wondering one thing : do u think that Starfore guys will
be able to disable this "work-around" through USB2.0 in the
next versions of their protection system ?

Cuz, if this is true, we won't be able to do the backup of sf protected
games (since alcohol, or daemon-tools do not have now a solution
for this with emulation...)

It scares me :( :( (hope that v4.0 of daemon-tools will fix it or
maybe alcohol)

Personnaly, if this nightmare comes (no more work-around on
starforce works), i won't buy in the future any starforce protected
games (excepted maybe Half-Life 3 or Doom 5 :D :D ) and i
encourage you to do the same (let's boycott this @!!#@$! protection
system !)

no, i think they will quit their job, because they dont want to improve starforce -.-
(at least i hope this....)

Don't you think, they have access to internet? I think they love this forum, because thanks to us all they know, what to improve. we are their beta-testers. Right now they are working on fixing this USB-bug.
I think, at least they should give their respect to karlmueller.... :D

What makes you think that ? (i fear that most editors will love starforce since it is
the hardest protection to beat , Securom and Safedisc are dead). Our only hope is
that Starforce license is expensive to buy for the editor... ;)

I'm almost sure that they read all known backup known forums (daemon-tools, alcohol, here, mackabackup,...) : that's part of their job to see what are able to do :D :D

What makes you think securom is dead, v7 is a tidy little number so far, give it time and it will be more secure.

Yes, you're right : maybe i'm too much optimistic ;)

Well, sexxxurom has always been a lousy protection, mostly bad attempts to copy stuff from other protections but maybe they skipped v6 just because it was total ****e and decided to make a "proper" solution this time

Proper my a**. Sexx ur mom v7 has been cracked, so has starforce, and safedisc. There is no proper solution. As long as the game can run it will be cracked.

Regarding Starforce, the last games (such as SC3) have not been cracked due to
the encryption done on the executable and dll files...

So it's not so easy for this kind of protection.

I'm not saying it is ez to crack, but it will be cracked. Just sit back and relax  . Oh, btw, encryption means nothing if the crackers have the original CD and have bypassed you're obfustication(did I spell it right?) and anti-debug.

Encryption regarding SF can be a bitch, but getting around the VM and possible p-codes are harder ;)

So, has it been cracked yet?
