Wierd ass disc problem

Hi Ive just played thug 2 on my ps2 and suddenly it freezed and since then the disc wont spin... acctualy it does spin but only 1/4 spin and very very slow...
i opened up the disc tray and the laser does move and show a red light but still the disc wont spin which is a problem :D
so pleaseeeeeee help me

i got a ps2 V7 with magic 2 V7 chip...
the laser condition is not so good but yet it works perfectly..

Well, what you're discribing (quarter of a turn then nothing) happens when the ribbon cable between the motherboard and the laser unit is not connected properly but unless you've had the unit apart it is very unlikely it would just fall out on its own.

Have you had the ps2 stripped down recently?
