I just bought BF 1942 Anthology and I can't install it. I have gotten as far as 99% on the install meter when I get "Specific Componet cannot be found in the media". EA support was no help. I thought maybe the copy protection has something to do with it but I really have no clue. Someone suggested I come here. I'm running Windows XP sp2, Pentium 4, 1 gb ram, Radeon x300 and SB Audigy 2. I really have no idea what to do so any help would be appreciated.

Do you try to install the game from the original cd/dvd, or from a backup?

No Matter How Slow Your Machine The Installation Will Not Freeze Unless A Copied Version Or A Pirate Game..!

So Mods I'd Think About This Twice..!

EA support was no help? They would have told you to either exchange the game where you purchased it or send it to them for replacement. I have had to do that with a cracked disk before.

Do not be so quick to assume.

Original media can do the same, if conflicting software, AV's, Faulty Hardware, or even bad media.

All im saying is think twice before saying anything.

Try cleaning your lens in your CD-ROM/DVD-rom/rw it may be dirty, or you may indeed have a faulty disc, even better try installing at a friends if it sticks at 99% bad media if not, something on your end is wrong.

Try cleaning the lens with a disc cleaner anyways, then look at disabling an AV before installing incase its trying to scan files while installing.

Hey jvel,

In my opinion, you'd better be off with the official game support forum - where actual gamers try to help each other - than the game publisher - where "droids", who have never even played the game, pick your E-mail.
