Hello!
Yesterday I bought GT4 (original), but is not working on my PS2 :mad:
I have the messiah modchip
Does anybody have or had the same problem? :confused:

The disc nos not boot...even after rebooting. I don't even see the logo Playstation 2 :(
My console is V3 or V4, I think...

ohhh

ive been told dual layer dvds dont work on the older consoles is your ps2 chipped? Try disabling the chip. you may need to get a new console who knows i will try it out on a v4 console i have going around here and post the results later.

Thanks... Yes my console is chipped, with messiah 2 (I think)

I have a v4 ps2 with a messiah 2 pro chip installed, and gt4 works perfectly for me, but i did replace my laser approx 6 months ago and only recently altered it as it wasn't loading all my games properly

Dual layer game DVDs dont work on V4s too well because of the laser. Replace it and all will be fine. Sounds like its on its way out...

Dont know if having the modchip is the issue, but I got a V3 and GT4 works like a charm. Its just ashame I have no real time to play the bugger.

My PS2 is not chipped by the way :mad:

its a strange one you see it depends ps2 lasers vary alot in how they can read dvds. I suggest Unsoldering the chip and go find a v5 to 8 console and resolder the bad boy in there.
