View Full Version : Question concerning Act of War
Hi all,
so i just made a Blindwrite Image of that game (BW 5.2.10.142) with a Securom 5 Profile, because Protection ID told me that it is protected with Securom 5.03.13.
Now i wanted to mount it with the newest Daemon Tools Version, but well, it did
not work.
Has anyone here a suggestion what i can do to get the game running?
BTW the Error message was: Conflict with disc emulator detected, please check www.securom.com/emulation .....

...the Error message was: Conflict with disc emulator detected...
Uninstall CloneCD (perhaps only the VirtualDrive part of CloneCD) and try again starting the game!

I do not have Clone CD on my Pc, well i think this might be a problem with Daemon Tools, heard than some games have daemon tools blacklisted, so when you 're trying to start them, they won't work.
Probably someone else has got an idea...

Ok.. TJ
You Probably Aware Of That Nowadays It's Impossible To Have A Working Backup Without It's Orginal CD/DVD.
The Way I Do It Create The Image Any Type..!
Then Load Up ULTRAISO & Open The Image With That..!
Then Add The NO - CD Crack In It's Own Dierectory..!
Save The Image & Burn..!
Install Game & Use Crack In Dir..!
:) :) :)

Rip off some unnecessary files, like intro movies, cutscene movies, musics, speech, whatever. If the game doesn't work without those files, replace them with empty files: files of zero length or a file of the same type (AVI/BIK/MP3/WAV/whatever) consisting of only one empty frame. You should test your results on a rewritable CD/DVD... ;) Good luck,
Joe

Use http://sta.c64.org/winprg.html#i5comp (I5COMP) and http://sta.c64.org/winprg.html#i6comp (I6COMP) for managing CAB files around and ORCA (search on this forum, Altavista, Google or www.microsoft.com for a download URL) for managing MSI files around. Good luck,
Joe

To Start With There Is NO *.msi File On The DVD..!
2nd Thing Is'nt There A GUI Interface Proggy For Opening *.CAB..! :)
under the registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\Scsi
find the demontools scsi port key (it will be SCSI Port 0, or 1 or 2, for me it is 3)
Under permissions deny administrator access for "read".
this will make demontools invisible to securom and stop it from making the error msg "Emulation detected .. ARGH" and locking up demon tools
Hope this helps cause I hope I don't have to post this again

or altenative with a hexeditor.
Go to your Windows folder and search for daemon.dll
Rename it into zaemon.dll or similar. But the number of the letters must be eqal.
Then go to the installationfolder of daemon tools. open daemon.exe with a hexedtior and search for daemon.dll. Change it into zaemon.dll and save.
yeah this is a way cooler way of doing it :)
thanks

Hi mojo8850,
I kind of guessed you'd have a problem with those tools, nevertheless, I answered your question. It's not easy-to-use tools that make you a professional hacker, you know...
