Hello,

I got a problem with a PS2 8mb memory card while using backed up disks. In essence, the card can no longer be accessed by most games, with the exception of FIFA2001. The space is still occupied (the browser shows there are 3.5 mb free out of 8 ), but no icons are shown and the console claims there is "no data". Any suggestions, please?

M8,

How long have you had your memory card????

I take it its an original sony one????

Did you power off your PS2 whilst it was saving in a game???

What you might have todo is format the card again, you may of been unlucky, i had the same problem with my PS1 a couple of years ago.

Have you bought any new bits for your PS2 eg boot cd, remote control etc etc???

Cheers

Dal

I have had the same problem after using a DVD Region X disk for the first time.

My card is a Wild Thingz 8MB card which was working perfectly well before.

I can load games, but not save them and it recognises the data is there, but cannot see any. I also had the Official Sony DVD Remote with the 2.10 drivers too.

I'm not happy as many hours were spent on GT3 and GTA3

Can anyone help????????

I think I have a solution (if you live in the UK)

I have spoken to Datel and they told me that in some cases, the DVDR-X can corrupt memory cards.

They are offering a free service where you can send your memory card and DVDR-X to them and they will try to unlock your card and get your saved data back. They will also update the drivers.

Their phone number in the UK is:
(01785) 810 800

It should take approx. 1 week for the whole process. I'm going to try and send it recorded delivery just in case!

Hope this helps :)
