i have bought ''the lord of the rings-the return of the king'' but i can't select characters except ''SAM'' even if i select another character (like Gandalf, Legolas, Gimli, Aragorn) i had been playing with only ''Sam'' again also i am always forced to play the game in hard mode and i can't change it. I heard that i can use some of the patches of this game and i searched it in the web but i found quite a few patches so i don't know which of them can be useful for my problem. Can you help me?

The only possible reason you can only play as SAM is by using a known bad crack!

Are you SURE you have an original copy? Seeing as there are NO OFFICIAL PATCHES for this game try EA Tech Support:

There is some info on your problem that states you should not use any modified files, and to totally uninstall and then manually delete the game folder form your system and reinstall from the original media. If you still cannot select any other character except SAM even when using your original CD's, contact EA Tech Support via e-mail and explain your problem.

Yeah, Sam bug was for the infamous first warez release.
