View Full Version : i just got a 16x dvd rom and its not helping me encode any faster help
i just got a Liteon 16x dvd rom and i already had a tdk dvd burner i got the dvd player to help speed up my encoding speed with dvd shrink but its not moving any faster no do i have to install the drivers to get my 16x speed or something

Drives normally have a riplock speed when it comes to protected (especially css) dvds. Maybe there is hacked firmware for your drive available.

were would i get this hacked firmware because i just payed 80 dollars for a dvd rom i bought it for the 16 speed because my dvd burner had 8 or 4 x speed i woud like ot use my full speed

my dvd burner is a tdk 880 N dvdr dvdrw cdr cdrw
my dvd player which is a 16x is a lite on combo it has cdrw 56x and a dvd drive 16x
neither of the 2 run at full speed so could u hook me up with that hack please

Here is somethin for your TDK. The link will have your drive up at the top of the page. I'd recommend the RPC1 and Rip Lock firmware based on Windows 1.33.

As for your Lite-On, Ill need more info. Like what model it is. I dont need to know how fast it is. Just the model number like you gave me with your TDK. If you dont know just open up a burning program and see what it calls your drive.

Sorry couldnt find anything for you lite-on. At least that TDK firmware will keep you going.
Just keep in mind that Lite-On's and Sony's are notoriously for rarely being hacked. Due to different ways of making their firmware.
