View Full Version : Problem Upgrading v1.39 Matrix Homebrew?

Hi, i just got done doing install on PS2 v7 with a Matrix Homebrew chip, now i'm trying to flash the chip with v1.39 so that i could play backups and originals. But i keep getting same programing screen over and over...OK...let me explain...I put the upgrade cd in i get the upgrade screen then it wants me to press start to upgrade to v1.39, but i keep coming back to same screen, it never says that it is succefull or finished and YES i did check no it did not upgrade but i'm seeing it has v1.33 already installed i think...Please help would be great ! ! !

-UPDATE-

I just tried my backup game and original and it works...so that means the installation is good and i noticed something everytime when start a new game and u know the Playstation 2 icon appers on the screen well on the right hand corner of PS2 icon it says infinity v1.33. So now my question should i upgrade??? but at the moment its not letting me i don't know y? BUT IT WORKS !

yeah might as well upgrade. Go on www.infinitymods.com download the update burn it to cd and put it in your ps2 works a treat. Do you own a proper infinity or the modbo caus modbos are flashed with 1.33 bios just double checking before you did try and flash the ps2 chip!

i did all that, i'm using nero to burn the image for v1.39 upgrade. insert the cd in ps2, then upgrade screen, press start to upgradev 1.39, few seconds later it says "programing ok press any key" i do that, then again i get the "press start to upgrade v1.39". So i keep getting these two repeated steps over and over i don't whats problem. i would think maybe its upgraded but when i reboot the ps2 i keep getting same v1.33 and is there a menu screen for infinity chip? if so how do i access it? PLEASE HELP ! ! !

i bough my chip from foundmy.com, so i'm assuming its a real thing, sorry but whats a modbo??? thanks for all ur help !

sorry but whats a modbo??? Its a crappy clip chip, Stick with the infinity, i have never known foundmy.com to sell clones.

well i just emailed foundmy.com to see what they have to say about this, bcuz really i bought this for its reputation in the market and not to metion the features it has...so can anyone else confirm this chip as clone, looks like exact thing as on the infinity website, but this has firmware v1.33 which is no where to be found on the infinty official website...

i paid $46 plus shipping - chip in the picture above is not what i have, mine chip is exactly what infinity website shows...so then this is chip i have real??? it has a blue dot on the corner of actel chip...so then what am i doing wrong? MORE HELP PLEASE !!!

Ok, i was able to get to the settings menu of the chip and also was able to disable the chip...so all is working but still the upgrade to v1.39 not working...help please !

really strange!!! so it has the 1.33 already try the release before that it might be a bug.

I had the same problem and I also purchased the chip from same place. It was matrix infinity and I don't belive it was homebrew. I ended up mailing deck to spedmetal and letting him do the install. Spedmetal remember the blue deck a few weeks back? Ask spedmetal he may know.

I just tried an earlier v1.35 and it did upgrade, but as i upgrade to v1.39, it reverts back to v1.33 why IDK? may be bug in the upgrade of v1.39 as far as display of version #? anybody else with the same problem?...oh well its working !

prob a bug or something email the matrix guys and say there may be a bug.

maybe you need to upgrade it to a v1.38 fw first...then v1.39

i tried it with the newist version on a homebrew and it worked.
