Hi,

I think many people on this forum own HD loader and are enjoying it very much. I was thinking of getting one myself. But, considering the cost involved if you don't have the equipment already, (network adaptor, HDD, HD Loader) is it really worthwhile to get it if you don't have at least some of the stuff already? Also, considering the fact that there is a good amount support for DVD backups, what would be really the merit of it, other than faster loading times and perhaps conservation of the laser?
I hope nobody gets offended by this as there may be something I just don't see. If you see something that I don't, please feel free to enlighten me.

Thanks

bad lasers and loading times...you said it all. already had the adapter for online play, hdloader was cheap, and after rebate maxtor 120 < cost of a new laser. hours of fast-loading uninterrupted fun...,(you guessed it)....priceless.

Just a few questions regarding HD Loader.

1. Does it work with Sony HDD with FF 11?
I know the review said the yes, but it mentioned formatting, and I would assume Official HDD would come formatted since it already contains FF11. But, then would HD Loader need to format it again in a different way?

2. Does it work for PS1 games?

3. Does it work with online games?

http://www.hdloader.net/hdloader-modchip-faq.htm
3. A french site was working on these online games by patching SMAP files, but as usual PS2Ownz think they can do better and took over "the little guy's" project.

On a sidenote: I tried to google this and i came up with www.hdloader.com (first site of HDLoader) is back under construction. Anybody got any idea?

The drive is already formatted in the Playstation format - so HDLoader won't format it again...

... and yes, HDLoader does work with the official Sony drive :)
